Description

User is immune to all moves based on sound. This comprises all of the following:

  • Bug Buzz
  • Chatter
  • Echoed Voice
  • GrassWhistle
  • Growl
  • Hyper Voice
  • Metal Sound
  • Perish Song
  • Relic Song
  • Roar
  • Roar of Time
  • Round
  • Screech
  • Sing
  • Snarl
  • Snore
  • SonicBoom
  • Supersonic
  • Uproar

Note that Heal Bell now cures Pokemon with Soundproof.

If a Pokemon that has a Perish Count uses Baton Pass to a Soundproof Pokemon, that effect is passed on, however.

Competitive Use

Next to none, it has to be said. All the Pokemon who have this ability have better abilities or are just too bad to make an impact in the standard tier these days. Electrode will probably run it over Static and Mr. Mime will probably use it as well, but really you never see them very often.
