Competitive Use

Howl is outclassed by Swords Dance, and should only be used when the latter is unavailable, if at all. There are a few Pokemon that find use in this move, such as Arcanine and Stoutland, which can sweep reasonably well with it since they are fast. Most other Pokemon with Howl are either unseen in competitive play or have other roles they do better.
