Overview

Audino, BW's incarnation of Chansey. It's not wrong to call Audino that, since it plays similar to how its counterpart does: supporting its teammates to the fullest. Audino has great defenses for NU, with a base 103 HP and base 86 defenses to back it up. It has an amazing movepool as well—both offensively and defensively—allowing it to provide great support. Unfortunately, Audino's offensive stats are rather lackluster, making it difficult to take advantage of its offensive movepool; however, they are decent for a defensive Pokemon. Audino's typing is also a blessing, but in some respects, a curse for it. An immunity to Ghost-type moves is helpful, but a crippling weakness to Fighting-type moves and no resistances leave Audino vulnerable to numerous Pokemon in the tier. One might also argue that Audino is outclassed by Lickilicky, but that's not entirely true. Audino has a much better ability in Regenerator, and niche moves in Trick Room and Healing Wish.

Cleric

Leftovers Regenerator Calm
Moveset EVs
~ Wish
~ Protect
~ Heal Bell
~ Toxic / Thunder Wave
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

This is the standard cleric set, with Wish and Heal Bell being the staple moves. Thanks to Audino's huge HP stat, its Wishes provide enough recovery to restore most teammates back to full health, while Heal Bell cures any status Audino's teammates might suffer from. Toxic and Thunder Wave provide standard status support. If Audino's teammates lack Toxic Spikes, Toxic helps in breaking down walls. Thunder Wave, however, helps slower, hard hitting Pokemon take on faster opponents. Protect ensures that Audino doesn't get KOed while it gets healed by Wish, and it works great with Toxic, slowly increasing the damage taken.

Dual Screens

Light Clay Regenerator Calm
Moveset EVs
~ Reflect
~ Light Screen
~ Wish / Healing Wish
~ Toxic / Thunder Wave
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

This is a standard dual screen set, but with some key differences. Unlike most dual screen users, Audino possesses Wish to heal its teammates alongside bolstering their defense with screens. However, Audino has another niche move over other dual screen users, only sharing it with Gardevoir and Chimecho down in NU: Healing Wish. Healing Wish fully heals a teammate, also removing any status conditions inflicted upon them. However, it comes with a price; Audino must sacrifice itself in order to use the move. Toxic can help Audino's teammates break down certain walls, while Thunder Wave cripples most offensive threats and sweepers.

Leftovers Regenerator Sassy
Moveset IVs
~ Trick Room
~ Wish
~ Heal Bell / Healing Wish
~ Toxic / Protect
0 Spe
EVs
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

With few Pokemon in the tier that can set up Trick Room reliably, Audino is a great candidate. Audino's typing sets it apart from the pack of Trick Room users, and its access to support moves such as Wish and Heal Bell make Audino even more unique. Wish lets Audino heal its teammates, keeping the Trick Room sweep going, while Heal Bell cures any unwanted status. Healing Wish is an option as well, bringing in a teammate safely by sacrificing Audino, fully restoring a teammate's health. Be careful using Healing Wish, though; only use it when you're sure you won't need Audino anymore. Toxic is useful for taking down bulkier opponents, while Protect ensures Audino gets healed by Wish itself. You can make any move combination with the moves listed, just keep Trick Room on the set.

Other Options

Audino has a good offensive movepool, both specially and physically, but lacks the offenses required to take advantage of it. It does have access to Calm Mind and Work Up, and can take advantage of its great bulk to boost its stats. Audino's support movepool doesn't fall short of its offensive one either. Audino can set up both Sunny Day and Rain Dance, as well as Safeguard, to support its team. Being able to provide cleric support at the same time makes it a good candidate. Encore can make it easier for a teammate to switch in and set up on an opponent, while Yawn can put the opposing Pokemon to sleep, possibly forcing a switch as well. Sweet Kiss is also an option to confuse the opponent, but confusion is an unreliable status condition. Audino has access to Amnesia as well, boosting its already impressive Special Defense. Lastly, Audino is one of the few BW Pokemon with access to Rest + Sleep Talk. These two moves provide instant recovery for Audino, while being able to use moves while asleep; however, Audino's job is to support its teammates, not to heal itself. Rest and Sleep Talk can also be used on a mono-attacking set with Calm Mind and one of Audino's many special moves.

Checks and Counters

Fighting-types are the bane of any Audino set. Sawk and Primeape are two heavy-hitters that will easily OHKO Audino with their STAB Fighting-type moves, while Throh and Gurdurr have no trouble setting up on Audino. Throh and Gurdurr can even capitalize on the status Audino inflicts, while also being able to cure it with Rest. Another way to completely stop Audino is by using Taunt. Some of the most prominent users of Taunt include Murkrow, Golbat, and Serperior. All three are faster than Audino, can Taunt Audino, and proceed to stall it with Toxic and Leech Seed, respectively. Physical attackers with huge Attack and powerful moves, preferably Fighting-type ones, have no trouble breaking through Audino. Pinsir and Braviary are prime examples of powerful behemoths that often carry Fighting-type moves, while Swellow and Zweilous can mow down Audino with their STAB moves and massive damage output.
