Swords Dance to boost his mediocre Attack stat and Endure to get down to a Salac and Swarm boost and attempt a sweep. Alternatively, you can try Sing to sleep an incoming counter but its accuracy can let you down. Aerial Ace provides type coverage against his fellow Bugs and hits most Fighters harder than Brick Break. If you're using one of the alternative moves, Life Orb helps Kricketune's meager Attack.
Other Options
Screech is unlikely to scare anything off, but can soften up opponents for the rest of your team. Perish Song can annoy a Baton Pass team, and Substitute helps ease prediction. That's it.
EVs
Stick with 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe. Adamant or Jolly nature.
Opinion
Kricketune is essentially Beedrill with a smaller movepool and no Poison-type, and that means that it's a very poor choice. He has neither the stats nor the movepool to compete effectively, even in the lower tiers. Use him early on ingame to help you catch some better Pokémon with Sing and False Swipe.
Counters
Most Poison and Flying-types can beat him with ease, thanks to their Bug/Fighting resistances. Steel-types that aren't weak to Brick Break such as Metagross will destroy him too. Fire-types can take him down without much trouble. Anything that isn't weak to his attacks should finish him off, really.
