Okay, well I find them just annoying, and not the ones on "a forum, darkly" don't really act like mods at all.

If a popular user posts a non discussion generating topic, it will stay, and everyone would just goof around. But say if I posted the exact same thread, word for word, it would get locked instantly.

The thing I don't understand is that often MODS are the ones who initiate the trolling, or don't take a topic seriously...they believe they are amusing to post off topic or inside jokes in threads, and the fact that they are mods prevent them from getting in trouble.

Honestly, I have stopped visiting Smogon as much ever since the split between Cong. of the Masses and Firebot...I mean, I still don't understand why they would do that. So they can have people troll in serious discussion, and not get in trouble for it?

(And note I'm not talking about the Absences thread, just to clarify).

the logic is that trolling and trolls can sometimes be funny as hell, and because of that there will always be an infinite amount of trolls. therefore, stopping trolls from trolling by telling them to stop is a futile effort.

however, if people become less troll-able, then there is less trolling as a result. hence my advice. stop posting for a second. look at your posts, notice how and why you are getting trolled, and think about this when making future posts, so as to not get trolled.

Well sorry if it seems like I'm getting mad, because I'm not.

Well than why are you telling me to stop posting? Are you suggesting that because I am the victim, I should stop posting? That's ridiculous? If you really felt the need to help, you should have told the people trolling me to stop.
