We're not gonna agree :P Showing what your fanbase wants doesn't make your conf perfect. It's the bare minimum! Project Sora was unveiled last year; Kid Icarus very probable.

Look at it this way: N basically said 'gamers, we're going back to our GC strategy'. The difference is that thanks to their huge sales in the casual market, they can now afford to provide content by themselves; but if Wii Fit etc. didn't exist, this would have been a weak conf, because they wouldn't be able to sustain the stream of content.

Now, though, there is no need to worry. We know that N will keep getting huge profits from casual games, and this handful of core games will keep the fanbase happy. But for everyone else in the industry, the 3DS is a testing ground, and if MGS3DS doesn't sell millions, you can expect the 3rd party support to plummet. That's why the conf wasn't perfect: nothing said 'look, we're addressing our issues'. They just said they were doing what they've been doing for ages.

A bad rhythm? Now you're just being nitpicky. The presentation was smooth save for the Zelda demo. The resurgence of oldies is what the Nintendo fanbase wanted. They do NOT look identical to the originals. You think you simply saw same game, better graphics. But that is not the case as Activsion made the game from the ground up. It will only have similarities because there was one out before it. And while DKCR looked similar to the old snes one in terms of gameplay, I don't recall there being a mesh of 3d enviroment in there. And I honestly don't think Nintendo believes the Wii needs 3rd party support at this point, which while it makes me sad, is totally understandable. And yes, you must have predicted everything they were going to show, including Project Sora. It feels like you are being picky for the sake of being picky. Like you expect a new generation of consoles when there isn't a need yet.

Yeah obv, compared to Sony and MS, it was excellent. I haven't seen Konami's yet; but imo it was on par with EA's and not as good as Ubi's.
You mention your current (not old) handheld when it's the 2nd best selling console ever. E3 is a professional event now. There is time until the 3DS comes out, and N has to fill it up - don't forget that DS doesn't play 3DS games, so the ideal thing would've been to cover the ~14 upcoming months DS-wise.
There were fumbles, a somewhat bad rhythm, and a distinct taste of outdatedness: the new games are in fact a resurgence of oldies (DKCR and 007 look identical to the originals). 3rd party support is still a big issue and while the 3DS line-up seems to address it, apparently Nintendo is going to ignore it on the Wii. So, on par with EA: show known franchises in random order, give details about released info; be where you're expected.
And I can't say what should've been announced: that's the point, there was nothing that wasn't predictable.

Why would you mention your old handheld when you announce a new one aside from games coming out soon? Aside from the demo screwup what wasn't professional about it? What is their to announce really? We won't see new consoles for another 2 years at the least. You can't have a Wii-Slim. It might not have been 'complete rape best.conf.ever cum everywhere' compared to previous E3 conferences, but compared to the other 4, it simply was.

Actually I should just stop arguing about that, it's almost painful to see all the fanboyism (there is no other word in some cases, i'm not talking about you) but I don't want to ruin people's enjoyment.

Nothing in particular, it's just that the conference wasn't as grand as it could have been. Everything about the 3DS was perfect, from the console itself to the third party list; but for the Wii, apart from the epic Kirby and Mickey, it was a just a 'good' presentation (even with Zelda); and the normal DS was barely mentionned at all. If you compare it to what happened in 2004 or what Ubisoft did, you'll see: there was no purpose, the show wasn't hosted in a clean/professional manner, no major announcement (Kirby is a low-profile Nintendo game, even though its graphics allow it to get a lot of attention)... It was a good show, and a lot of very good content was presented. But it wasn't 'complete rape best.conf.ever cum everywhere' either. :)

Hey how would you react if after a conference about office furniture in which you didn't get to see even one little rubber band ball, everyone was jizzing about how good the separated rubber bands look?
