If your college CS department has a MSDN agreement with Microsoft, you can get just about any computer software made by Microsoft for free. I've downloaded Windows 7 and Visual Studio for school, you can also get Microsoft Office, older Windows versions, and various personal tools like accounting and note-taking software.
