YESSS I GOT IT! Thanks for making that suggestion, it led me to put IP etc. in manually which apparently fixed it lol, ill see ya in the trade room.

go to system settings(main menu)-->internet-->wifi connections settings-->Erase settings

Im really at a loss here, my Heart Gold still works but Black suddenly doesn't, and all I can find are general DS connection tips. Hopefully I can get back to you soon with some good news.
