You don't have to make a placeholder thread if you don't want to. Normally I just write things up in a text document and go straight to letting people QC when I'm ready. It's up to you really.

Initially, you can have the information in each section in point form, allowing people to easier find the important information you want to convey.
When you feel that it is ready for QC, edit your topic to have the QC category tag, and also post that it is ready in the reservation topic.
