Now with poll.

Okay, we have decided that this does not get ThunderPunch (44- 29)and that it's name shall be Revenankh (with an N). Time for me to list ten Pokedex Entries.

Option #1:
REVENANKH is known to inhabit tombs or crypts to avoid light and train itself in peace. However, if anyone disturbs it, REVENANKH has been known to chase the intruders for anything from a week to decades. - Helios

Option #2:
It is said that Revenankh are the mummified spirits of a deceased Pharoah's guard-Pokemon. And as such, they will hunt down any threat to they're master/trainer, or his posessions. - Magmortified

Option #3:
A Pokémon that is said to have been imprisoned for eternity, REVENANKH has recently appeared, seemingly reborn. - Pulse

Option #4:
REVENANKH is the source of many pyaramid trap myths. Hoenn researchers found them deep in the tombs of Route 111's desert, but Steven gave them a scolding for suggesting he wasn't thourough enough in his dungeon crawling. - Deck Knight

Option #5:
REVENANKH and SABLEYE do not get along well. SABLEYE's endless pranks and REVENANKH's short temper are the source of frustration between the two pokemon. - Deck Knight (we already picked on Delibird enough with Syclant)

Option #6:
Using the materials in its environment, REVENANKH construct a home similar to that of a tomb. If a Pokemon unintentionally draws near, REVENANKH will attempt to make it flee with a terrifying combination of GLARE and OMINOUS WIND. - Chaoscrippler

Option #7:
Revenankh are known to transverse massive deserts in order to find a way to extract revenge on the person who put it to rest. - Gengar Crysis

Option #8:
Known in legends as the deathbringer, wherever REVENANKH goes, all vegetation rots away. An aura of fear always precedes its appearance. - Rhykune

Option #9:
"It is said that REVENANKH have to train regularly to keep their physical form. Should one ever slack off, it will be reduced to mere bandages. - King of Anime

Option #10:
Though normally solitary, REVENANKH gather on full moon nights in remote desert locations. Contests of strength often follow. - King of Anime

And we need sprites badly. We have a total of zero sprites, and that is the next poll after this. Not too good. In other words, anyone with spriting talent please post an attempt.

Secondary Ability:
Air Lock

Fire and Water moves are at normal power in sun and rain, Rocks have normal Special Defense in sandstorm, SolarBeam has 120 power and takes 2 turns, and Blizzard and Thunder have normal accuracy. A part of me is sad that my entry isn't in the running. A larger part of me is sad looking at these entries. As far as I'm concerned, a Dex Entry should strike a balance between professionalism & thought-provoking depth and be reasonable in length. ...Alright, mine was too short. ><

#1 - This looks like a Dex Entry in my opinion.

#2 - Aside from the grammatical errors, this is tad deep for my tastes.

#3 - Too deep. Dex Entries should also be informational in nature. What do I learn from this that I can't observe by just looking at the Pokemon?

#4 - The mention of Steven makes this lose some of its professionalism, but not much.

#5 - Not professional enough.

#6 - Is an ominous wind one of the first things you think of with mummies? Not for me.

#7 - A little short, also some word choice issues.

#8 - Similar problems to #3.

#9 - I do like what this one is giving me. This really adds nice flavor to it.

#10 - Same problem that I believe my entry had, quite frankly.

That's votes for 1 and 9 from me.

im likin KOA's first one, because we intentionally didnt give it slack off. I also like Magmortified's. I didnt vote for Deck Knight's, though it would be my third choice. I think we should have picked on Delibird more IMO.

Mine didn't get in. =/

I agree with CardsOfTheHeart, some of those just look horrible, like they were in a fake newspaper giving a quick blurb about Revenankh rather than a dex entry.

As for #2, I didn't think a Pharaoh's guards were mummified, just the Pharaoh himself and sometimes their pets.

I'm not voting yet, as the choices aren't good enough for me to decide on the spot at the moment.

The Pharoah's servants tended to be mummified with him - whether they had died yet or not. The whole, "Serve me in the afterlife as well!"

EDIT: I'm surprised people actually voted for mine.

Voted 8 and 9

Before saying anything please note that I did this only because there is a shortage of sprites. This was to get spriters inspired enough to do a sprite of there own. If this somehow gets in the poll, I wouldn't vote for it as it is not a true sprite. It is a mix. I can even tell you what it is a mix of if you do not believe me (but I'm sure you can tell anyway). Only the bandages were scratched, so without further adue...

Voted for 1 and 9 but 1 should be changed to omit the second 'known to.'
At face value, this suggestion would make the entry look wrong. You mind clarifying?

Do you want a change from "Revenankh has been known to chase" to, say, "Revenankh will chase?"

That certainly wouldn't hurt it, but I don't see anything wrong with the entry to begin with. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'

Forgot to say my votes:

I voted for 1 and 2, I think.

One: I'll agree on shortening it to, "Will chase". It's otherwise pretty good.

Two: Other than personal preference, I feel that Pokemon that aren't explainable by, "It's a bird" should have a little bit of backstory to them in their Dex entries. As in, "Dusknoir is the reaper of souls, and not just a generic ghost!"

At face value, this suggestion would make the entry look wrong. You mind clarifying?
Ah, haha, I guess I did word my response a bit funny. I just meant one of the two 'known to''s should be changed as to avoid repetition. Thought this is really just a nitpick, so if no one else sees a problem with it, it's probably just me.

I went for 1 and 9. 1 is a great entry for a ghost type. I chose 9 because it was the only one that recognises its fighting type.

Like almost everyone, I also like 1 and 9. Reasons are pretty much already said by others. Honourable mention goes to 6. If we had to pick three entries, it would have been the third choice.

Also seconding (thirding? Fourthing?) editing the repetition out of 1. We had enough repetition with one of Syclant's dex entries. "The stronger a Syclant is, the bigger its spikes are. The bigger a Syclant's spikes are, the stronger it is" It went something like that.

1 and 9 were the choices I picked--I particularly liked 9 because little details such as "it needs to train or else it DIIIIES D:" make my heart warm. The Sableye one definitely gets the honorable mention, though... xD It just didn't feel serious enough to be a legitimate-sounding Pokedex entry.

Edit: I'm a little nitpick, short and stout...edit/suggestions in bold--It is said that Revenankh are the mummified spirits of a deceased Pharoah's guard-Pokemon. (omit "And", otherwise to make it flow more smoothly you should join the two sentences with a comma) As such, they will hunt down any threat to their master/trainer (optional--remove the comma here) or his posessions.

REVENANKH is known to inhabit tombs or crypts to avoid light and train itself in peace. However, if anyone disturbs it, REVENANKH will (as suggested by other posters) chase the intruders for anything from a week to decades. You could also make the second sentence sound like this, "It has been known to chase intruders for anything from a week to decades if it is disturbed." Or something of the sort.

I voted for 2 and 10, though 1 and 9 are nice too, generally better overall than some of the syclant entries lol (though the ones picked were good)
