Watch the video. She dips once, not even sexually. And for the love of god, 3-9 year old girls don't know what a fucking stripper pole is. Quit bitching people.

Exactly, people are making it out to be something a lot more extreme than it should be. After reading that article I expected some raunchy routine but she was just holding onto it and making little steps. (Obviously this guy has never seen a real stripper routine then?).

Though why she even needed a pole is a good question, but it was very PG anyways so who cares?

The thing is, she didn't need a stripper pole. Its like she is just trying to appeal as sexy as she can without stepping over the boundaries. She cant get too sexual she is appealing to young girls and hopefully she has enough of a brain to know that much. It was just really rediculous.

I also want to know how the dip wasnt sexual.

She didn't need that ice cream cart that the pole was mounted on either. She didn't need those background dancers either. She obviously didn't need any talent either. Technically all she needed was a microphone, the rest of the stuff is just props for the show. Someone (her father) obviously thought the ice cream cart with a pole on it was a good idea and decided to add it to the routine.

As far as if the dip was sexual or not, I don't really want to speculate on why people have differing opinions. Cultural gap, perhaps?

It's not the pole that makes her look like a stripper, it's those short (short) shorts. "Knee-cut not a slut, thigh highs watch out guys!"

On the plus side, Hannah Montana is a passable porn star name if all else fails.

And it looks like crazy dad's next contract will be with Hustler or Playboy at this rate. For the articles, you know.

*sigh*

It sucks how people with 0 talent get famous.
Dont be immature. Shes not amazing and just because she doesnt appeal to your age group and is juvenile doesnt mean shes horrible. I think shes an okay singer, most of the music she sings sucks though.

I mean the dance was suggestive, I mean she didnt do a stripper dance but its related to stripping.

he wasn't being immature. it's pretty much a fact that most of the little "stars" that disney tries to popularize have little to no talent. disney's marketing attitude makes me sick, to be honest. it's about on par with microsoft or evony in terms of how much "I wish I was the president so I could shut you fuckers down".

anyway yeah I agree that the use of the pole in the routine was intended to be suggestive to those who know what it is, but hopefully done subtly enough to get past the targeted six-year-old girls unnoticed. I suppose they're trying to gradually turn her into britney spears 2.0.

just because she doesnt appeal to your age group
uh what age group are you in

She's seriously going to have to get her act together on this one. So many teens and even children look up to her, and she still acts like this?

I'm not a big Miley fan but as soon as I heard she was on a stripple pole I Google'd away. Take that how you want it, but she really doesn't even dance on it. She just stands next to it for the duration of her time up on the cart thing holding it up.

But of course every picture of her is the same, the one time she goes down on it (yeah whatever basically the only thing she does on it).

Still, I definitely think this is sending the wrong message to children, because for god's sake 8 year olds watch her as an idol. You cannot go around acting like that in public...

She's actually already been told that as soon as she turns 18,they would love to have her in playboy(read somewhere, may not be true)

i find this really weird. her dad not only supporting a semi-lewd act but choreographing it? it's only kinda fucked up when beyonce's dad does it but miley cyrus is 16 years old. 'sorry honey i love you but this whole innocence thing isnt working out anymore, time to be a slut!'

im normally against censorship, but i think that, unfortunate as it may be, miley cyrus is a huge role model to an equally unfortunate number of young girls, and shit like this is not good for them.
This. Poor girls o_O

thissssssss

they definitely wanted to skirt the boundary with this one and see if it could generate any buzz. they succeeded. if anything it's the media frenzy that has done more damage to the whole 'role model' thing, i'm pretty sure the vast majority of girls 13 and under would have made no connection to strippers. and if they did make that connection, then their parents are doing a horrible job anyway.

this is just a continuation of a trend. i'm not saying it's okay but it doesn't surprise me and doesn't make a big difference.

Ah man, buzz-kill, I thought that video would be her dancing on the poll rather listen to this guy who looks like that one Guinness World Records guy who can pop out his eyes lol.

But yeah, after seeing this video on Youtube, like the real video of her dancing, I suppose they should have thought about how slutty it would make her look. Her Dad wouldn't notice that kind of thing because it's probs how he met Ms. Cyrus. ;D But other than bagging on the famous or somewhat famous people, it's just that in our minds (or in mine and many others) the pole on the ice cream cart seems like a stripper pole, as to those thousands of screaming girls, it's just a pole for her to hang on to so she doesn't fall off.

Oh one day, just one day I would like to see a child star to reach the top and either stay there nice and problem free without doing drugs, or having a sex tape. Once these kids leave Disney, then it's over for them. For example: Vanessa Hudgens in that new shitty Band Camp movie or w/e it is, lol what a queer movie.

These kids have no acting talent beyond Disney. And it's really sexist that Disney gives all these chicks from the shows a chance at music and singing, but never the guys. And again, example: For those who still watch Disney channel shows, that Wizard show with that new popular girl Salena Gomez or however it's spelled is now into music, and blah blah blah, but what about the two guys from the show? Another one: Back in 2003, that show 'Phil of the Future' that kid got nothing; the only person who got shit out of that show was the blonde girl and her sister who had nothing to do with the show. Then they both starred in a Disney channel movie and no one else from the show really got anything.

The only person I could think of who is a guy and actually made something of himself (I guess...) is Justin Timberlake who started out with Britney Spears in that Disney kids dance program thing like 20/30 years ago. Like the Jonas Brothers, sure they're popular now, but how long do you think it's going to last? I mean, I was watching TMZ the other night, and one of them (Joe I believe) was driving in a $150,000 Mercedez. Really? Do you really need that car? You can't just drive a fucking Honda or Toyota or something in the $30,000 budget?

But the point of all this ranting is: People find these kids, and Disney puts them out there in the spotlight for so long. When these kids become kids no more, like once they reach their early/late 20's, then it's over for them. IMO, it's over for them. Disney keeps these kids careers under it's wings, and once they go get too old and get away from Disneys wings, then they're screwed. It's jut inevitable, things will happen to these kinds of people in the spotlight.

It's just that these kids have so much money they don't know wtf to do with it all, and later they're going to go shit broke, and end up like every other child singer or star. If one of them was smart, they'd invest their money now, and live successfully later without being in the paparazzi's view (like Paris Hiltons sister, she's rich and famous, but out of the spotlight). But hey, they're young, and teenagers just want to do one thing at those years: spend money and be with friends, and these kids with lots of money are going to do just that... expect of course spend a shit load more money and have a lot more 'friends'.

Are you seriously comparing a Mercedes to a Toyota?

No.

First of all, WTF does this have to do with Shoddy or Pokemon? 0_0 ...I guess we're not limited to conversing about that, hmm... very well...

Second off, I would have disagreed with you until I saw/heard/read that. o_0 Good lord. I was hoping she wouldn't end up like Lindsay Lohan and her ilk. I hope there's still time for her to prove me wrong. >_>

Third off, why am I even talking about this? @_@ I don't give half a ratatta's arse about Miley Cyrus.

^^Yay for new users, they're so cuute!

Honestly, you guys should really stop worrying about other people's kids. Trying to decide how other people's kids should be raised is facism, and facism is wrong.

The fact that people think that worthwhile teenagers will actually be influenced by stuff like Miley Cyrus is what's really upsetting. If your kid becomes a stripper because she saw Miley Cyrus do it, chances are she was already headed down that path from the beginning.

This practically sums it up. Music and role models are on a decline, I mean c'mon Miley Cyrus? and there you have Jonas Brother as a top selling rock artist. This shit is hilarious..
I don't nessecarily think they're bad role models per say. I mean, how can you say some boy band who wear purity rings and star in Disney movies/whatever is a bad role model. While none of the people mentioned are actually very talented, we don't have it bad.

Also the part where you said that good role models are on a "decline" really annoyed me. I think people just like to think everything from the past was magically better than it is now, because imo we're sortakinda heading in the right direction. I mean, the ones you're talking about are probably actually stereotypically good role models more than bad, whether less talented or not. Most of the "bad" things they do are only really perceived as so/noticed by older people.. so I don't think it's a huge problem.

i'm assuming you mean 'fascism', and worrying about the tratment/future of other people's children is not fascism.

you seem to link things together an a very immature way; they're not as direct cause/effect as you imagine. it's not about a girl growing up to be a stripper, it's about propagating stereotypes. wanting children to grow up without shit like this isn't fascism.

It looked pretty sexual to me... but now a days I guess it is nothing unusual when it comes to live performances of any sort.

Personally, I hate Miley Cyrus to begin with, but Stripper pole dancing? That's a bit much...and so so wrong. What are little girl's going to think of this? Just another disney star turned slut/whore. ...Okay, for wall I know, she could possibly be the first, but still.

Its really embarrassing how many of you think that there was a pole put on there purposely for sexual reasons. It was a moving Ice Cream cart and they obviously dont want her to fall off, so they put a pole for her to hold on to. Pole=/=stripper pole. She's not spinning and dangling upside down, she stands there for 30 seconds. The media (and alot of people) really just want a reason to call a 16 year old girl a talentless slut, for whatever reason. And really, she's as slutty as ANY other girl her age, and honestly tame compared to many (well dating a 20 year old is a bit much...).

Theres some other questionable things you could call her out on too...(and, oddly, that Bandslam movie has gotten really good reviews 0_o)

Well I guess the reason for this is that more girls are watching and idoling these people than boys, so the girls are more profitable.

Eh, Zac Efron's been doing OK post-Disney. Oh, and hmm, I'm 19 and rich, should I get a Mercades or a Honda.....

Are you seriously comparing a Mercedes to a Toyota?

No.
Read what I said very clearly before quoting it. You clearly didn't understand what I meant. Obviously with your Audi avatar, you were quick to judge on what I said as a car comparison. What I mean, and I'll explain this in a way you can understand this, is that, these kids or boy band, are making all their money from little kids that are their fans. Same goes for Miley Cyrus, and everyone else who came from Disney.

These kids are only making clear profit from the kids, no one else. You don't see me buying concert tickets to a Jonas Brothers concert, nor anyone in my age group (19+, unless the kids go with their parents, then okay, which also racks in more cash per ticket per adult).

Now, what I meant was that why does he have to drive a $150,000 Mercedez and not something in a smaller $ range? Meaning you make all this money doesn't mean you have to drive such an expensive car, and it's just pointless to drive such an expensive car. He could simply drive something else, for example a $60,000 A8 or a lower class or even a S Class or something under 100k ffs. That is what I mean to say. Next time don't quote anyone unless you know what they mean.

If they really wanted it to make it look less skanky, they should have added an umbrella to the pole. If it was an umbrella, which it's suppose to be on the ice cream cart, then it'd be fine, they can't say anything. It's honestly the persons fault whoever sets the stage up and see's how she's going to go from which spot to which spot and dance where and how. But when they just add a pole there, it's going to be a good story for the media. People need to learn how to do things carefully, or things like this will happen. And all they had to do was get a tall table umbrella, so she can get on, swing around it and not do a knee-drop-stripper-move, then everything would be a-okay. This is the price you pay when you make mistakes in the spot light. If the coordinator did things right, and saw that it would look like such a thing, then we wouldn't be here right now discussing such a problem. But then I think, and if I had kids, I'd think: "Well, at least that's not my daughter."
