The date was December 1, 2012. The time was 11:58:30 AM. It was a day just like any other day. Everyone was going about their business, when suddenly televisions the world over began to flicker. The same picture appeared on every single one of them. A shadowy maniac appeared, dressed in what appeared to be a strangely feline costume. He proclaimed "It is time. This planet's destiny will be decided within a fortnight. Anyone who wishes to live will submit to us when we appear to you." Everyone who saw this arrived at a common conclusion. "This guy is Insane". The clock struck twelve. Simultaenously, explosions of great magnitude took place in every capital city across the globe, sending everyone into a frenzy. Everyone suddenly became aware of a buzzing in their heads. They heard a strangely guttural voice saying. "Good day, ladies and gentlemen. This is the day that will forever be remembered as the day the Earth was united under a single banner. Your options are as follows: submit voluntarily; submit involuntarily. No other options are permitted. As the victims of those explosions just found out, the conseqences of not submitting could be... unfortunate, to say the least." Everyone couldn't help but notice how Sophisticated this voice sounded. A sudden bass riff startled them out of their thoughts, and then they became aware of the connection fading. An Assortment of Random Characters decided to do their best to end this madness, and thwart the bids of the force led by the Insane man and the individual with the Sophisticated voice to take over the world.
The war raged on for five days, and the major participants in this war became clear. The date was December 6, 2012. The time was 11:59:59 AM. Mysterious portals appeared in front of the warriors, transporting them to an island believed to be located somewhere in the Indian Ocean. The survivors of this battle would emerge as the new rulers of the world.
It is now 12:00 PM on December 6, 2012. How will the war unfold? Will the Assortment of Random Characters save the world, or will the Insane or the Sophisticated triumph? Or will some Unknown forces emerge as the new rulers? Stay tuned to CHAOS MAFIA to find out!

1. The game will cycle between Night and Day, beginning with Night 0. Unlike previous Night 0s, killing will work on Night 0.
2. Each Day will last a maximum of 48 hours. Each Night will last a maximum of 48 hours. Days and Nights may end early depending on whether a majority is reached or all Night PMs have been sent.
3. If you don't want to use your Night Role, please send a PM to me with the title Night X - Idling anyway. This at least shows you're still paying attention to the game.
4. Each Day, players will be able to vote for one living player. The player with the highest number of votes at the end of a day will be killed. In order to post a vote, simply post Vote User in bold font. Voting user will also be accepted, as will Lynch and Lynching.
5. There are items in this game. If you have an item, unless otherwise specified you may give it away during the day or night by sending a PM entitled Night X - Giving ITEM to USER. Giving away items has one of the very lowest priorities in the game.
6. Anywhere it says you may send a PM means you should be sending it to both Earthworm and Gmax.
7. Do not paste or screenshot anything the hosts tell you about the game, unless given express permission by Earthworm or Gmax. Do not screenshot anything related to the game.
8. Do not talk to living players about the game while you are dead. Similarly, you shouldn't reveal anything to dead players while you are living, as it may be possible for dead users to come back to life.
9. There is at least one role from a previous mafia game held on Smogon in this game.
10. Do not impersonate other players or us. You may fake logs but don't fake a log involving us.
11. If you have any questions about the game, I strongly suggest asking Earthworm or Gmax. If we don't want to answer your question, we will probably say something like 'I can neither confirm nor deny this' or 'Maybe'. We can be found in #warau as Earthworm / Earthworm|Away and Gmax.
12. The game ends when all hostilities to a side, alliance, or user are dead.
13. The game has an item system where whoever kills the holder of an item receives any items that player was holding. The 'killer' (the user that receives the item) of a user that has been killed during the day will be randomised amongst the users that voted for the user that was killed during the day.
14. All images in Role PMs are uploaded to TinyPic's free image hosting service. If you make a fake role PM upload your image to there. Earthworm and Gmax are willing to provide a limited amount of help to those trying to create a fake role PM.
15. There might be slight grammatical errors or other minor errors in your role PMs, don't take it as absolute proof of a fake if you find one in someone's claimed role PM. Additionally, role PMs are mostly not very consistent so you probably shouldn't look for differences in those either while determining whose are fake.
16. It is possible for a user's win condition to change, among other things. Don't assume anything in this game. For more information, see the disclaimer attached.
