The adventure so far in text...
Okay...Palkia's in the bag, I've fully healed up, & I'm ready for my next Gym in Sunyshore...Well, not yet...Before doing so, I decide to take on a side quest! The mission: To get those darn floating fairies into my Pokedex. Unfortunately, I have to cross water to get to them, so I have to get Slave (Bibarel) back out. This time, Treadshot (Pachirisu) gets to take a rest in the PC while this side quest.

I fly to Sandgem & head to Lake Verity to find the pink fairy. I confront it, ready to...watch it chicken out & run away like a noob. Stupid Fairy.

So...I then decide to fly to Snowpoint to deal with the fairy in Lake Acuity, and when I get to Lake Acuity, I find a yellow fairy & confront it, ready to...watch it chicken out & run away like a noob. Stupid Fairy...Oh, wait, is it still there? Oh, yes! It didn't chicken out & run away like a noob! Now to catch it...

I send in Metapod (Mothim), & instantly get it to U-Turn to Faricimo (Kricketune), who I was relying on to send it into dreamland & catch the bastard. After a Future Sight, Faricimo then Screeches at it, reduces its health to the "Red Zone" with
X-Scissor, before putting it to Sleep with Sing. I used my weakest Poke Balls first & worked my way up, cycling between putting it to sleep, healing Faricimo, & chucking balls at it. Eventually, I catch it in my 6th Ultra Ball & 13th overall. I name it "Knowxie" (Knowledge & Pixie) & heal up at Snowpoint.

I then fly to Pastoria & head to Lake Valor to catch the third floating fairy. I arrive at Lake Valor & find a Blue fairy. I confront it, ready to...watch it chicken out & run away like a noob. Stupid Fairy...Oh, wait, is it still there? Oh, yes! It didn't chicken out & run away like a noob! Now to catch it...

Like last time, I send in Metapod. Metapod survives a Confusion to U-Turn out to Faricimo. Faricimo misses with Sing to be killed by Confusion. So Ungulate (Mismagius) comes into the fray & knocks it into KO range with Payback. Several failed captures later & Ungulate falls to consecutive Future Sight hits. BlueBomber (Drifblim) enters the battle & after doing lol damage with Frustration, stood tall while I continued to throw balls at the fairy. Eventually, The fairy finally manages to sink in a Dusk Ball, my 12th Capture attempt. I name it "Will Power" (Geez, I fail at naming) & head back to Pastoria City to heal.

After healing, I decide to head out to Sunyshore City, starting with Route 222. I battle the trainers there & arrive in Sunyshoe, where I find a red-head named Flint, who tells me to visit the lighthouse. I go there & find a yellow-head & talk to him. He then pisses off to the Gym, awaiting my challenge. So I go to the gym & beat the trainers. After beating, It was becoming obvious that this gym wasn't going to be a cakewalk, so I decide to battle Volkner & try to beat him.

I send in Faricimo while Volkner sends in Raichu. Raichu gets the jump on Faricimo with Charge Beam. Faricimo replies by fufilling the one sound move per trainer battle she appears in requirement by using Sing...And misses...God I'm becoming pissed off with Sing, though there's always Screech. Raichu comes back hard with Thunder Wave, paralysing Faricimo, while Faricimo replies with X-Scissor. Raichu then tries to kill Faricimo with Brick Break? (Okay. AI must really be that dumb...) It does crit, but it wasn't enough to kill Faricimo, who replies with another X-Scissor, KOing Raichu.
Next up is Luxray. Luxray quickly finishes a weakened Faricimo off with Thunder Fang.
I send in Treadshot to replace Faricimo. Treadshot Discharges away while Luxray does the following: Paralyse Treadshot with Thunder Wave (Where Treadshot spends the next turn fully paralysed), get paralysed itself by Discharge, Charge Beam Twice, before picking off Treadshot with Thunder Fang.
So I send in BlueBomber, & because I have to, I do lol damage with Frustration first up. Luxray laughs & wallops BlueBomber with Thunder Fang...Which BlueBomber miraculously survives! BlueBomber then uses Shadow Ball, lowering Luxray's Sp. Def & forcing him to consume a Sitrus Berry, before killing off BlueBomber with Crunch, taking Aftermath Damage in the process.
Unsure of how Metapod would fare, I send in Big O (Empoleon) to pick off Luxray. Big O gets into gear right away, KOing Luxray with Chrome Buster (Ice Beam).
Volkner sends in Ambipom, & instantly Baton Passes nothing to Octillery...Taking a hit from a Big O Cannon Party (Hydro Pump) in the process, halving Octillery's health. Instead of using Cannon Party again, I use Chrome Buster, & took it down to red health...Octillery replied with Bullet Seed, which hit twice, not doing much damage. Volkner then scrambles for a Full Restore, while Big O made a Sudden Impact (Drill Peck) on Octillery's health, even though it didn't do much. Big O then used Chrome Buster, putting Octillery into KO range for Cannon Party, while Octillery lowered Big O's Accuracy with Octazooka. Big O missed with Cannon Party, while Octillery got in another Octazooka, this time, doing no damage to Big O's accuracy. Big O then hit with Cannon party, KOing the Octopus.
Ambipom then made another appearance, & raised its Speed with Agility, while Big O put Ambipom into KO range with Cannon Party. Ambipom then raised its Sp. Atk with Nasty Plot while Big O missed with Cannon Party, which was now out of PP. Ambipom got cocky & used Nasty Plot again, but Big O hit with a Sudden Impact on Volkner's team, KOing Ambipom, winning me the battle, & winning the TM for Charge Beam.

After that, I got a HM for Waterfall from Jasmine & healed up at the Pokemon Centre. I send Ungulate into the PC to get Slave back out of the PC & teach Slave Waterfall. I then head out onto Route 223, surfing north towards the Pokemon League, battling the trainers along the way. One of the battles was an "epic" 2v2 where Faricimo & Metapod (The two struggling Bugs on the team) hold of a horde of 6 Water Types to win. I eventually reach the Waterfall that takes me to the Pokemon League. I use Slave to get up the Waterfall & I find a Pokemon Centre & the entrance to Victory Road. I heal up at the Pokemon Centre, get Ungulate back into the party at the expense of BlueBomber, & get ready for Victory Road. And that's where we leave off...

And that's all. Not much to go in this Scramble, Sapphire starts in a couple of days, but how will this scramble fare in Victory Road? Stay tuned.

Dexington and vikingraider, the deadline has passed 11 hours ago. You said you'd battle friday but apparently you didn't.
Both of you have been active which means I can't give an activity win. The normal procedure on the official tournaments on these situations is the coinflip. The winner wins 3-0.
vikingraider won. I'll update the OP later.
And finally PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME DO THIS AGAIN.
We're on the decisive rounds and any win may be decisive so this leaves me on a very unconfortable position as I don't want SPL ruined by coinflipping (however I will do this again if this situation happens again).

Okay, you guys managed to find one of the few things that really piss me off: coin flipping.

I hate flipping coins to decide the outcome of matches. That means both sides either suck, or are just too lazy or are Smogonites (j/k). So, this is what I'm going to do:

Anyone who causes another coin flip will immediately cause the prize to become null and void should they win, ie if you somehow win after a coin flip, you get no prize. So don't cause a coin flip, got it?

Why not say they both lost 3-0? So they both suffer for not doing the battle?
When the players don't complete their battle there are only 2 ways do decide the outcome: activity win and coin flipping. I saw they were both active so that only leaves coin flipping. I'm trying to make this the professional way.

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
So there are now four people on 9 points? This is going to be pretty cool if auramaster beats zdrup15: GL to both of you.

lol...

You guys are taking this far too seriously for your own good.
This is the first Tournament I'm hosting and I want to follow the rules.
And I gave you a deadline even when you said you'd battle on friday. I've even battled vikingraider on friday and I saw you 10 minutes later here so you were both active.

Hi, just giving an update.

I just got a LeafGreen cartridge yesterday and started playing today. Today, I obtained my Charmander and started my journey to Pewter City.

Charmander - Level 8
Nature - Lax
Scratch, Growl, Ember

Hi, confirming that my Sapphire Scramble has started! As with the current Pearl Scramble, there will be updates...

Here are the Pokemon...

  • Wingull (FrostGull): Must Know Mist & One other Ice-Type Move (Bynine)
  • Gyarados: Must know Fire Blast/Thunder/Blizzard & one other Special Move (Athenodoros)
  • Pikachu: Cannot Evolve (Sprocket)
  • Torchic (Khan): Solo one Pokemon of each type (except for two, decided before game start (Fire & Ice)) up to 10 levels lower, & solo 2 Fully evolved Pokemon (One from a Gym Leader & Another from the Rival) & solo one of the champion's Pokemon. Complete one half of the challenge to evolve into Combusken & clear Victory Road to evolve into Blaziken.
  • Abra (Lolcat): Must have four different typed moves ASAP & always have moves of four different types. Can never evolve into Alakazam (DetroitLolcat)
  • Absol (Hirador): Pure Special attacker (auramaster)
Stay tuned for updates! :)

That makes both Atheno and Zdrup 4-2, with Zdrup at a 7 average and Atheno at 5. Dexington can also join the club if he wins his next battle, and Vikingraider will be 4-2 with another win as well. Gonna be a great last round :)

True. I just wanna say Paradox and Vratix are my biggest friends right now! xD For some reason I think Atheno also feels this.
And I have to say this: on the end of Round 2 Atheno was by far the player I was less worried with. Now he's 4-0 and is probably the scariest player to face.

Correct me if I'm wrong Zdrup, but don't you battle Atheno in the next round? You should post the time of the battle in the thread, I don't want to miss it :)

Guys, first of all, I know I'm double posting but this is important so have that in mind.

I talk with doom frequently on poke lab and he has helped me on some tournaments with his UU knowledge and he's one of my biggest friends here.

Right now, after I saw his result against Atheno, I asked him what happened and he said WITHOUT ANY INTENTION that the problem was Atheno has a rotom. Now this wouldn't be a problem if Atheno wasn't my last opponent and one of the best candidates for the win.

This was the ONLY THING HE TOLD ME and, to make it fair I wanna say here I HAVE A ROTOM TOO. I think this should put us with the same knowledge about each other's team.

I would like to say i'm really sorry about this Atheno, and i would like to give my deepest apologies. I talk to zdrup all the time on Pokelab and he innocently asked me about what had happened in me vs you, and without thinking about it, i blurted out that you had a rotom. I didn't realize that you and zdrup still had to play, and for the title chance no less. I hope you can forgive me atheno. : (

The adventure so far in text...
Okay...So I do the pre-game shit & get going. I'm a Boy & I call myself Random. I deal with a truck scene, go into a house, randomly set the clock, & go to another house in this town called Littleroot Town. I see a girl called "May" & get told to visit a lab. I go there, only some random researcher there, & leave to hear about some person being chased by a dog. I get told to get a ball in a basket & chuck it. An orange chicken comes out. I tell it to Scratch the crap out of the dog & it does. After that I randomly teleport to the lab.

The professor dude tells me to keep the orange chicken. I name it "Khan" (Thanks, vikingraider) & make my way out of Littleroot. I make my way to Oldale, get a potion from a random, & make my way to Route 103. I see the same chick I saw earlier & she challenges mt to a battle. Like last time, I command Khan to Scratch the crap out of the blue fish she sent out (Insert meme here) & it does so in three turns. That's 4/15 Types soloed by Khan (Ice & Fire were omitted, types done were Dark, Normal, Bug, & Water). After that I return to the lab.

I get a PokeDex from the professor random & 5 Poke Balls. I leave the lab, get a pair of runners, & run back to Route 103, where after 5 minutes of running from random combat, found what I want: A white Seagull. I chuck a Poke Ball after one Scratch from Khan, & caught it. I name the Seagull "FrostGull" (Thanks, Bynine) & returned to the Pokemon Centre to heal.

After healing, I headed west through Route 102 to deal with the trainers on that Route with FrostGull before arriving at Petalburg. I find my Gym Leader dad, who tells me to help some random catch a Pokemon. I escort the random to a grass patch in Route 102...Holy Crap! Something called a Ralts came out! (No fair...Why does he get to find a Ralts & I don't?) The lucky bastard caught the Ralts with one throw of a Poke Ball (Now I'm jealous...) & we return to my father, who tells me to go to Rustboro City.

I leave Petalburg to Route 104 to deal with the trainers. I eventually enter Petalburg Woods & find some idiot being harassed by a pirate-looking guy. I challenge the pirate guy & easily beat him. afterwards, I traverse the rest of the woods & come out on the other side of Route 104. After dealing with the trainers there, I make my way to Rustboro City. Before dealing with the gym, I heal at the Pokkemon Centre & deal with the Trainers on Route 116. At this point, Khan had dealt soloed 9 of the 15 types of Pokemon Khan has to solo: Dark (Poochyena), Normal (Zigzagoon), Bug (Wurmple), Water (Mudkip), Flying (Taillow), Grass (Shroomish), Fighting (Machop), Ground (Nincada), & Rock (Geodude). After dealing with the minor trainers in the Gym, I take on the Gym Leader Roxanne for Badge #1.

I send in FrostGull while Roxanne sends in a Geodude. FrostGull easily outspeeds Geodude & OHKOes with Water Gun.
Last was Nosepass. FrostGull deals a bit of damage with Water Gun while Nosepass Hardens herself. FrostGull peppered another Water Gun while Nosepass misses with Rock Tomb (Whew, & considering FrostGull's low Defence & being part-Flying type...). Roxanne then abuses a potion while FrostGull gets in another Water Gun. Then FrostGull got in another Water Gun, which critted & KOed Nosepass, winning me the battle & the TM for Rock Tomb.

After that, I leave the Gym to see the same idiot from the woods get robbed. I ignore it & heal up at the Pokemon Centre. And that's where we leave off...

And the current team...

Khan (Male Torchic) @ Nothing
Lv:13/Quiet/Blaze
-Scratch
-Growl
-Focus Energy
-Ember

Types (*Not Soloed, Underlines are omitted): Dark, Normal, Bug, Water, Flying, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Rock, Psychic*, Poison*, Ghost*, Steel*, Electric*, Dragon*, Gym Leader*, Rival*, Fire, Ice

Comments: Not saying much, as it's only early days...

FrostGull (Male Wingull) @ Nothing
Lv:14/Lonely/Keen Eye
-Growl
-Water Gun
-Supersonic
-Wing Attack

Comments: Not saying much, as it's only early days...The more used Pokemon of the two.

That's all for now.

Athenodoros

Official Smogon Know-It-All
And I have to say this: on the end of Round 2 Atheno was by far the player I was less worried with. Now he's 4-0 and is probably the scariest player to face.
I was trying a stupid thing with one of my Pokemon in those two, and majorly changed my team afterwards. I'm kicking myself now, because what I was trying to do was just stupid.
And damn, I like my Rotom. :)
