Battle Subway

I haven't actually used quick claw myself might put it on somebody. I was using a Moltres with kings rock and got three fire blast flinches in a row though.

That's awesome. But not as awesome as all my pokes being raped by Sheer Cold 3 times in a row by an Articuno in Platinum's Battle Tower.

Would someone be able to post the Pokémon listed by speed or post speed tiers (for the subway)? I know someone did it for DPPtHGSS and it would be awesome so I can find out how many EV's I need to run for my Drizzle team
This is a speed list of all the Pokemon you can fight in Super Battle Subway (you shouldn't need a speed tier list for Normal subways).

All Pokemon are Lv50 and are assumed to have IV31 Speed since all Pokemon starting from battle 28 in the Battle Subway have IV31 in all stats.

This chart already factors in Iron Ball, Choice Scarf, Full Incense and Slow Start.

Is this what you're looking for?

Thank you TRE for the Speed tier list. That helped a bit in team planning...sort of.

This is my preliminary team to just go through and get hold items and Power items so i can Breed a better team for the Subway:

Archeops @ Flying Jewel
Naive Nature/Defeatist
4HP/252Atk/252Spe
Moves:
Acrobatics
Rock Slide
Crunch
U-turn

Archeops has the raw power to take on a lot of threats. He helps for speedy win in the early rounds, and eats holes in later rounds.

Chandelure@Focus Sash
Modest Nature/Flash Fire
252Sp.A/252Spe
Moves:
Flame Charge
Flamethrower
Shadow Ball
Energy Ball

After Archeops hits the hay, Chandelure can come in and Flame charge to get a speed boost. Without any boosts, Chandelure hurts, so just used 100% accurate moves with best coverage/power.

Terrakion@Air Balloon
Adamant Nature/Justified
252HP/252Atk/4Spe
Moves:
Rock Polish
Swords Dance
Rock Slide
Close Combat

Double Dance Terrakion. I'm not sure what speed Terrakion hits, but it's over 129, so after a Rock Polish, it outspeeds everything. Swords Dance is if you come across a tank or a weak attacker. STAB coverage is decent, so not pressured into forgoing Swords dance for, say, X-Scissor.

Will post results of how well this team works.

I'm going to be breeding a Sazandora at some point.. but how would I go about getting either Dark Pulse or Earth Power on it? I know it can't get both. Wanted to make one for a Subway team.

Also.. how was Outrage boosted? I have both Garchomp (from Gen4) and Haxorus (who I'm going to breed a better version of as well).. so was curious.

I've got stuff like Excadrill, Ferrothorn, Whimsicott.. all bred and ready to go, with stuff like Conkeldurr, Archeops, Chandelure, and what not, waiting in the wings to get bred.

@Akiyama,
Dark pulse rather than Earth power as you can learn surf.
To get Dark Pulse You have to breed for it. With the father being Ekans/Arbok or Seviper.

And they must be transferred from DPPtHGSS. Can't you get Earth Power AND Dark Pulse though by breeding the baby with Dark Pulse with a male Earth Power user from Gen 4 and get Dark Pulse and Earth Power? Serebii and Bulbapedia both list them as potential parents for their own Egg Moves. Am I missing something here?

Only males pass on egg moves, so the Dark Pulse would be lost.

Oh, right! I knew that males pass on the moves (well, duh) but I just had a glitch in my logic. It doesn't need both anyway with that great coverage.

Ahhh, okay. So I need one of those and learn the Dark Power TM... well I'm doomed there as it's not easy to Poke Transfer, meaning I wouldn't be able to pass Dark PUlse on. My Houndoom I transferred over has it, but unless it can breed with one of those three, I'm out scout. =( Bah.

Also.. complaint about the Subway. Got to the 21st battle (boss) on the regular Multi Train. I had my team up and ready, and my partner had Excadrill/Conkeldurr.. both with EQ. They'd been spamming EQ so much to the point that I actually have to bring pokes that don't get destroyed by EQ just to not get killed by my teammate. Well.. finally when I get to the boss (and after a bit of crit hax, fainting my side), my partner finally decides NOT to EQ, and chooses to Aerial Ace/Rock Slide.. getting wiped with the guy only having his Klinkklang left. Why is the partner so braindead? :( Why did they remove the WFC capability for this? It's so irritating.

There's been a few people complaining about the lack of partner intelligence it's really quite amusing. I haven't tried it yet I will soon I think.

Many thanks to TRE for the speed tiers. Now all we need is for the list of each trainer's pokemon to be updated with the english trainer names.

I might as well get things started in B&W:

SINGLES
105

Whimsicott@Focus Sash
Taunt
Memento
Charm
Worry Seed

Uxie@Choice Scarf
Trick
Thunder Wave
Memento
Flash

Drapion@Black Sludge
Acupressure
Rest
Substitute
Crunch

Trick Scarf is dead, long live Trick Scarf. Go team one attack move.

Don't forget Mental Herb block the first Taunt. Not nearly as effective as it was against the old AI, but it works, especially with Drapion now able to Accupressure behind a sub. You will lose to about a dozen leads or so (stupid Hi-Jump Kick) out of 700, but you are pretty hax proof and Drapion can pull out some wins with lucky Accupressures even on low PP setup moves. Drapion flat out beats a lot of things, and Flash is amazing, I've seen the light Jumpman. If you don't mind LONG battles and looking at TRE's massive moveset list for every fight, this is an easy way to get past 49 wins for the trophy.

AI is still pretty dumb. They will switch if locked into a status move with Trick, which is a nice improvement. However the AI will persist in trying to status you when you have a sub and they are NOT locked in via trick. And the AI will now attempt to psudo haze your boosts away with Roar/Dragon Tail even when you are behind a Sub or are on your last pokemon. It's not all rosy though, Taunt hits you behind a sub (is this new? It seems dumb that Taunt is the only move Substitute won't protect you from) . If it weren't for that Drapion would be even easier to sweep with.

EVs are the same as my 420 Uxie/Salamence/Drapion streak in SS, except Uxie now has 2 more speed to outrun Scarf Pinsir. Whimsicott is Calm +HP/SpD.

I strongly suspect Entrainment Durant with Truant from the Dream World will make the singles subway trivial once it comes out.

Doubles 126

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Fake Out
U-turn
Close Combat
Overheat

Latios @ Choice Specs
Dragon Pulse
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Draco Meteor

Hydreigon@Life Orb
Dragon Pulse
Flamethrower
Draco Meteor
Hyper Voice

Metagross @ Air Balloon
Iron Head
Bullet Punch
Earthquake
Ice Punch

From 1 attack move to 16. Doubles is SO much faster than singles.

U-Turn defensive switches with Infernape has worked quite well so far. I originally had my old Salamence from SS running Claw/Quake/Protect/Rock Slide instead of the Hydra for Intimidate support, still not sure which is better. Hydra can switch in for Latios which is nice, but adds Fighting and Bug weaknesses. Dropped the weakened Explosion on Metagross for Ice Punch to avoid being walled by Thundaurus/Zapdos. Otherwise most sets are standards from the old doubles BT.

EVs: Plus speed nature and max speed and attack for everyone except Metagross who is Adament and has only 113 Speed for Krookodile.

Nothing much for Multi yet, just the 49 for the trophy with Infernape/Latios. I hate my AI partner.

You get 2 PP ups, a Rare Candy, and eventually a Lansat berry after 105 wins from talking to people on the platforms, each Super line will give items.

Low records and unimaginative teams from me so far, but might as well get something up so there is some discussion going.

Good god, the hax in this place is rediculous... Firstly a donphan get in 5 consecutive Quick Claw activations(I was switching around trying to dodge a possible Ice Shard) and then Walrein comes in to finish up with a Sheer Cold. I wasn't that high up fortunately.

Makes me want to switch to trick Uxie/Mesprit. I should be getting way more consistent wins with that.

Having been using the forums and smogon database I thought I start posting here as well, starting by backing this thread up:

Aparently,as it seems,AI trainers are also always aware of what move you have chosen to use:

Fight goes like this:

I lead with a Flame orb Swellow, first pokemon the AI uses is a Purloin:

Swellow uses Protect->Flame orb activates
2nd turn: I pick Facade: Purloin uses Sucker Punch,Swellow flinches, goes to around 40% after the burn damage.
3d turn:I pick Facade:Purloin uses Sucker Punch,critical hit,Swellow faints
(i wont even comment on getting a consecutive critical after a flinch)

Rest of my pokemon are:
Mild Kingdra@Life orb:
Rain Dance
Waterfall
Surf
Draco-Meteor

Ampharos@Choise Speccs
Thunderbolt
Power Gem
Signal Beam
Focus Blast

I decide that getting out my Kingra would be best, since my Ampharos would be a better revenge killer, fair enough:

X chooses Kingra
1st turn:I pick Rain Dance: Kingra uses Rain Dance,Purloin uses Shadow Claw
2nd turn:I pick Waterfall:Purloin uses Sucker Punch
Thankfully I didnt flinch(I wondered "how come?" as well) and Kingra got to sweep the rest of the team.

Seriously, since Purloin was so eager to use its sucker punches,it is ought to have used a fail punch that turn...ah well...

Additionally,I have yet to find out how a Hydreigon without quick claw has managed to outspeed my Jolly,252 speed EV Swellow.(it didnt have choise scarf either, since it used a different attack the turn right after...)

I have a question regarding Trophies. I obtained the two trophies awarded for getting a 49 win streak in the Super Single and in the Super Double line, but in your character's house where the trophies are presented, there seems to be space left, on the table, for a 3rd item.

So I'm wondering whether the 3rd item is a trophy awarded for Super Multi or the Wi-Fi line, or if it's for something unrelated to the Battle Subway(supposedly from googling, your room may display some sort of certificate I hear).

The reason I'm asking this, is because none of my in real life friends play Pokemon and the AI partner in Multi Battles acts pretty horribly at times, so I'd rather not frustrate myself trying to get a 49 win streak in the Super Multi line, if there's no trophy reward for it. So if Team Rocket Elite or some other Battle Subway expert could answer my question, I'd be very deeply grateful.

EDIT

Oh I see fluffyflyingpig mention getting a trophy for multi in his post, so I guess that's the confirmation. Is there one for getting a certain rank on the Wi-Fi line too?

I need help for this Super Singles team please!

Mienshao @ Wide Lens
Jolly 252 Atk/252 Spd
Regenerator

U-Turn
Fake Out
Stone Edge
Hi Jump Kick

A pretty awesome lead; WL is to make Hi Jump Kick pretty damn reliable, and Fake Out is great for breaking Focus Sash. At the first whiff of a psychic type I switch to:

Hydreigon @ Expert Belt
Modest 252 Sp.Atk/252 Spd.
Levitate

Surf
Dark Pulse
Flamethrower
Dragon Pulse

I was so psyched to use this guy - but sadly he's not as useful as I anticipated. Still to slow to deal with any big threats (Weavile, Garchomp...) but, when he does hit something SE, it's a guaranteed KO. I don't like running moves like Draco Meteor/Fire Blast etc. due to accuracy hax :( If I fear a fighting move, I switch to:

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Modest 252 Sp.Atk/252 Spd
Water Absorb

Surf
Recover
Will-O-Wisp
Shadow Ball

Really solid: bulky, but still powerful enough to put big holes in things. I experimented with Hex/Water Spout but they simply aren't reliable enough as ol' Jelly doesn't have much time to set up.

I get to about 25 wins on on the Super Singles line but tend to lose to really fast things (Outrage Flygon, Focus Sash Weavile etc), any suggestions/improvements/replacements?

I'm thinking about possibly swapping Jellicent for Calm Mind Suicune, what do you guys think?

Sigh, stranded at 24 wins in the super singles again -.-'
I was really confident too, until a Donphan took out my Quagsire with seed bomb. I didn't even remember it learned seed bomb until I saw it happening.

Oh well, they did do a good job until I misjudged...

Salamence
Jolly
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Rock slide
Dragon dance
(I know this needs work, but it was my 2vs2 salamence)

Chansey
Bold
Toxic
Seismic toss
Wish
Protect

Quagsire (unaware)
Impish
Earthquake
Waterfall
Yawn
Recover

My Quagsire saved me so many times. Curse? Pfft. Dragon dance? Pfft. Sword dance? Whatever. Double team? HAH!

Hi guys, I didn't read the whole thread...

But I've had great success(Borat accent) with Trick Room as a team concept in general.
Reuniclus, Conkeldurr and Dragonite/Scizor.

Thing is, I didn't reach THAT far, compared to previous records set by Jumpman, but I've reached a healthy streak of 40-ish, which is perfect for those who just wanna grind the BP:)

Strategy wise, I've observed that the CPU HAS NO WAY to deal with Trick Room. Save for the freak-KO on Reuniclus and the Cursers...no way of countering.

Thing of note, Conkeldurr is bred with both Drain Punch and Mach Punch. This is important: You NEED to have both. Priority works wonders, and Drain Punch recovers HP. (I personally use a Bulk-Up Conkeldurr, but swapping in my Guts-Abuse one seems to work too. Only problem would be fighting the boosters.)

Dragonite is bred with Multiscale, and it's running Bulky-Dance.

Cheers.

Yeah, Trick Room looks great. I didn't try it because I have Black with no means of trading, which means no Reuniclus and no Conkeldurr :-( Still, once my friend co-operates, it's gonna be devastating.
