Spectator Participation Needed: Circus battle between Dogfish44 and It's A Random!

Not open for further replies.
Ladies, gentlemen, Pokemon of all ages, and Flamestrike! (I kid, man :P) Welcome, one and all, to our main event tonight! In the Flamingo Pink corner of our tent we have Dogfish44! Wearing his signature rainbow shirt, Dogfish looks ready for action! His opponent, in the Flamboyant Green corner, is It's A Random! He's the one with the question mark tattoos. Each side with six Pokemon, this double battle is not one to be forgotten! But wait, there's more! We need YOUR help, readers! Lemme explain:

6 v 6 doubles to make this interesting. And last a while.
2 Day DQ, 1 Week per ref.
Arena: Ahh, the important thing. A circus tent pitched in a field, capable of withstanding a bit of rain and blocking out the sun. Our audience sits in the rafters, ready and waiting. There is a bucket of water for fish, but it's not huge.

Now then, for the audience, it's an entertaining game. In the seats (And if need be, chasing after the battle with everything in pockets) the audience will enjoy throwing things at the battlers.

The items are thrown before the round begins, and each have drect effects. The items are:

- Bomb (5 HP Damage, knocks target back)
- Sugar Coated Sugar (+2 to all stats for the round, goes down to -1 on all at round end)
- Banana Skin (+1 Speed for next action, 3 HP recoil on physical attacks for next action).
- Cream Pie (-1 Accuracy)
- ACME Poison Darts (50% Poison, 2 HP Damage)
- Invisibility Hat (+3 evasion, -2 Speed, Sp.Def & Def)
- Iron Ball (Confusion 30% , Flinch next action 10%)

The audience may come as many times as they like - No need to sign up in the audience. A round may only be reffed if at least 3 items have been thrown, or 72 hours have passed.

This may go well, it may not. Until then, I need a volunteer ref and a challenger!
The first spectator to post which hazard they will throw after both trainers have issued their actions will get a mention in the announcements, and their projectile will affect the Pokemon! If fewer than three people throw stuff before I ref, (no sooner than 72 hours after both trainers have issued actions) I will use the RNG to decide which projectile(s) to throw, and make up an audience member(s) to do it! :D BTW, it's first come first serve. Now, onto the other rules and the teams!

What to start with, what to start with...

Alright, Spiroffin, Tormeldon, you're up! Your abilities are Mummy & Simple respectively!

Spiroffin, to start things off, I want you to use Toxic on Sunkool & get the damage rolling! In the meantime, I want Tormeldon to use Mud Bomb on Sparklez & hope for an accuracy drop!
Next action, we shall gang up on Sunkool, with Spiroffin giving a Hexxing glare at her, & Tormeldon roasts her with a pulsating Heat Wave!
To round things off, I want Spiroffin to turn his attention to Sparklez & use Toxic on her to get the damage rolling & Tormeldon shall use Flamethrower on Sunkool!

We need the KO Counter Tormeldon, just one & we can evolve!

Ponyta, ignite your flash fire! Sunkern, you're going with Solar Power.

Sunkern, Sunny Day! Then Leech Seed Tormeldon. Finish up with a SolarBeam at Spiroffin.

Sparklez, I want you to use your superior speed to begin with a Hypnosis at Tormeldon. Then aim 2 Flame Chargess at Spiroffin.

This looks interesting. *throws a banana peel indiscriminately onto the floor, landing in Sparklez's general area*

The three first spectators to post AFTER the trainers issued actions are: Son of Shadoo, Dummy007, and shadowbones66. Now, let's get started!

The battle begins, and our audience is already thrilled to give the Pokemon a hard time! A shadowy figure, with the help of his father Shadoo, throws a Poison Dart at Tormeldon! That had to hurt! Luckily for Tormeldon, the kid had a weak arm, and the dart didn't hit hard enough for any poison to seep into the Numel's skin. Now a hammer bro, the herp-derp dummy kind, throws a bananna onto the stadium. Look at that, Sparkles is slipping like crazy! Weird horse... but she's able to retain her focus long enough to Hypnotize Tormeldon, putting him into a deep sleep! Poor Tormeldon can't catch a break, but hey, at least the pain from the dart can't be felt anymo--the hell?! That Numel just went into a nice sleep, but the stupid shadowey people just love torturing him, don't they? I don't know how he was able to sleep through that bomb...

Now the Pokemon look ready for action! Sunkool starts off the battle by... singing? Yes, in the language of the Sunkern, she's singing the tune to "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles, and we got the whole crowd singing along! Makes you want to enjoy the Sunny Day outside, but since we can't, I'll turn up the lights to produce a similar effect. But our song ends early, as our resident killjoy mummy produces a Toxic wave that seeps into Sunkool's skin, Badly Poisoning the little guy! Tormeldon is smiling in his sleep; that "sunlight" must be helping him doze off. It's adorable! Meanwhile our adorable plant takes damage from Toxic. Not too pretty...

Tormeldon, let me tell you, is our accident-prone comic relief character here. With greater speed due to Sunkool's cells getting more energy from the sun, the Sunkern fires seeds from her body that wrap vines around Tormeldon, leeching his energy! Poor sap... but Spiroffin quickly gets in front of Sunkool and punishes her for bullying his friend with a powerful Hex. The spell even worked off the toxic from before to create an evem more powerful effect! Oh my. Now it's Sparklez' turn to take revenge; coated in artificial light-boosting flame, she charges into Spiroffin! The residue fire appears to be making her more fast and energized too. Wait... then why is her skin all mummified? Oh, it's just Spiroffin's ability, carry on.

Wait, can it... can it be? It is! Tormeldon wakes up, runs in front of Spiroffin, and prepares to attack! But he doesn't like waking up, it seems. Was he interrupted from a bad dream? Either way, that Heat Wave is fuled by his fury, and it's going to leave a mark on Sunkool! The flames also reach Sparklez, but what's this? She's taking damage? That mummy disease apparently does something... who knew? This is getting more exciting every minute!

Sunkool does not look happy. Ladies and gentlemen, the fire in Sunkool is not just external; she has a fire within, too! That fire, that intense passion, is being converted into Solar energy. And now Spiroffin will feel the full force of a passionate Solarbeam! That has to hurt! It looks like Spiroffin's seen worse though, because he's not about to strike back after all. As Spiroffin catches his breath, Sparklez rams into him with another Flame Charge! That left a real mark folks; Spiroffin was caught critically off guard! Now is when Spiroffin gets mad -- he's firing a wave of toxic sludge right at Sparklez! Not only mummified, Sparklez is now Badly Poisoned as well. To end the round with this theme of fiery passion, Tormeldon paunces a mighty Flamethrower at Sunkool! Poor guy's getting visibly tired now; you can see Sunkool catching his breath. Though that's aided by leech seed sapping Tormeldon's health, Sunkool's internal toxic accumulation isn't helping, and Sparklez is feeling the pain too.

Let's see how things are:

OK then, this seems to be going well. Spenstar, that's a BRILLIANT job reffing, it looks professional but has a good sense of humour.

Audience, please heckle once Its_A_Random has posted actions. Thanks.

Sunkool, go with a SolarBeam on Spiroffin, then a Hidden Power Fire on Spiroffin, then a SolarBeam on Spiroffin.

Sparklez, Flame Charge Sprioffin until it dies. Then start Double Kicking Tormeldon.

Thanks a lot, man! :D

Uh...we're not supposed to throw things until both battlers post their actions, I believe.
This is correct. All actions involving thrown items before both Dogfish and It's A Random post their actions will not be counted. This is to prevent either battler from anticipating the thrown item and taking measures to avoid it.

Hang on, iirc, shouldn't you have counted all the items thrown after Dogfish issued actions in Round 1? Also, Toxic damage only increases at the beginning of a new Round, not a new action. Other than that, not bad.

Anyways, Tormeldon, the KO Counter is almost yours! Just keep alternating between Heat Wave & Flamethrower at Sunkool until he dies, after that, if there's still actions left, I want you to evolve into Camerupt as you will have enough EC to evolve, at the cost of 20 Energy. Even then if there's still actions left, use Earth Power on Sparklez.

Hang on, iirc, shouldn't you have counted all the items thrown after Dogfish issued actions in Round 1? Also, Toxic damage only increases at the beginning of a new Round, not a new action. Other than that, not bad.
The challenge post said for a min limit of three items, so to make it easier on myself, I'm making it three per round, straight up. I will fix the toxic thing before I ref this round.
