UBERS WARSTORY

Hi. I'm locoghoul and this is my first warstory. After reading commathew6's ubers warstory I realized almost no one posts anything related to my favorite tier.

So, my team isn't exactly good, but I like to believe it does well against rain teams (read Kyogre abusers). Given the PO stats, almost half of the teams I'd be facing will have Kyogre on their team, which almost automatically means Ferrothorn too. So I decided on making my latest team a kind of "anti-rain-stall" team. However, by doing so I became a part of the system and my team can be labeled as semi-stall/"stallish" as well. Oh well, I was just anti-metagaming anyways. I think the battle I'm presenting is decent enough to get out a good warstory.

Team Preview:

locoghoul's team

K.S.C.!'s team

From team preview I can see the infamous Manaphy (you should really fear it, really), Arceus (from team preview you can't tell which Arceus it is) and an unknown Dialga set (can run several). I usually lead with my balloon Dialga myself so I thought his might be support as well and decided to gamble it with Deoxys-A bluffing a Sash (mine has LO).

He didn't switch his lead and it has a balloon; so that reassures my theory of support Dialga wanting to set up rocks. Having used Deoxys-A extensively I know the oldest trick in the book is to lure him into a fighting move so that Gira-O can come in freely and force it out with a possible Shadow Sneak. Still, I usually start off without overpredicting so I went with Low Kick.

:/ WoW damage will be an issue for later. I'm suppose to be saving Skarm for Extremekiller but I don't want to eat a Dragon Tail if I switch. If he has WoW, then he doesn't have HP Fire so I can take the dragon special move and survive either Dragon Claw or Dragon Tail next turn although if he goes for Outrage it might kill. Still, the only way I beat Manaphy usually is either Psyshock from Deo-A or Thunder from Dialga and neither OHKO unless it has taken at least ~25% depending on the set (CM Manaphy is a beast). Spikes it is.

PROs

- Deoxys-A maiming half of his team
- Skarmory for setting up Spikes
- Dialga for checking Manaphy and Kyogre
- His Ferrothorn for being annoying as always
- K.S.C.! for outpredicting me most of the match

SLOPs

- Xatu for being deadweight
- Me for not predicting well at the beggining.

OK, constructive criticism will be appreciated since this is my first warstory. Special focus on the format, editing, etc. rather than the battle is what I'm looking for. My team doesn't usually get flashy sweeps so it's hard to get a good battle log where my opponent doesn't rage on me.

Cool, I always enjoy reading Ubers. The battle was decent, though not chock-full of predictions and chain strategems like I enjoy, but was still lengthy for Ubers. Commentary was passable, formatting was good.

7/10.

Good read. It was excellent to see someone use Deoxys-S so skillfully and quite surprising to see a team that features neither Kyogre nor Groudon ! Excellent warstory, I look forward to reading more of your stuff in the future.

Nice to see another Ubers warstory. Props for that. There were some good plays and not-so-good plays by both players, but thanks so much forgiving us this little slice of Ubers! But most of all, great job playing with some of the lesser-appreciated pokemon that can hold their own in the tier (Gastrodon ftw)! Too bad that great battles are getting hard to come by. The commentary was enough to convey your thought process while making those tough real-time decisions. Overall, an enjoyable read!

Well, Deo-A certainly appreciates the lack of Scizor lately. I just treat him like a pseudo-scarfer/wall breaker. Is hard to switch in but it can OHKO most things if they are below 75% and with my moveset it doesn't get walled by Ho-Oh, sun or not (Psyshock hurts). Also note how Low Kick fares against Superpower. Low Kick may not do the same against the blobs or Darkrai but it doesn't lower attack so I can still hit hard if allowed to.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i think he meant Fire Blast as he was referring to battling in rain
Yeah, I meant Fire Blast (does Dialga learn Focus Blast??). Dragon+Fighting is a good combo that doesn't depend on weather.

really good job for an ubers warstory, really interesting
