Originally created on Pokemon Lab by drunk Serioussss, introduced to me by Aquaaa and Corn. I don't know the full rules on this yet, so they are subject to change at some point if someone points out an error to me.

Is LC too restricting to you? Wouldn't you like to use slightly more powerful pokemon? These problems are resolved by Tier10!

The Rules
  • Pokemon must all be level 10
  • All pokemon must be available at level 10 (this includes evolving before or at level 10, or evolving by stone or other event, as long as it can be done by level 10)
  • All pokemon can only use moves available at level 10 (egg moves are allowed, event moves are allowed, but move tutor moves and TM/HMs are not. Heart Scale move tutor moves are allowed)
  • Sonicboom and Dragon Rage are banned
  • Pokemon normally classified as Ubers are banned.
  • Ninetales is not allowed.
  • Like other metagames, you can only use what has been released (unreleased Dream World abilities are not allowed)

As an alternate metagame that, while similar to LC, varies in many important respects, this style gives some merit to lesser-used pokemon and moves.

Because this metagame hasn't had much experience in fifth generation yet, it'd be nice if there could be some feedback on results, so overpowered pokemon/strategies can be evaluated.

Speed Boost Torchic too broke. I'm really interested in seeing how that performs, seeing as it's only available at level 10, and thus disallowed in Little Cup.

Lol Porygon-Z/2. Why aren't TM/HM and tutor moves allowed? You can teach them to low-level mons.
That's just what I was told was the rules for this metagame - I didn't invent it.

In all fairness, I think it's to eliminate overcentralization in this metagame, or to reflect the game situation more (you don't own many TMs or HMs early in the game, if any at all).

That reminds me of a different metagame. The creator kept banning/unbanning things every match for a while.

Still, you can get low-level mons postgame.

I don't plan on banning anything unless many tests assure that something is broken.

However, I do see your point. Perhaps it might be important to allow these things temporarily to see how they would affect the metagame.

Was wondering when this would get its own thread.

If it can become fully evolved before level 10, expect to see it overused. Especially Arcanine and Togekiss.

This doesn't seem that much different than LC to me. The amount of moves learned between level 5 and level 10 seems negligible, but if you say that it makes a difference, then I'll take your word for it.

Have you ever used Togekiss, Arcanine, Exeggutor, or Raichu in LC? Wanted to use Shuckle, Ditto, Zangoose, Emolga in LC? Maybe Blissey?

Mr. Uncompetitive

That was when it all began.

There's a HUGE difference from LC. First off, there are far more restrictions on your movepool due to a lack of tutors and TMs (Though don't you get TM moves through breeding?). Secondly, a ton of final evolutions such as Arcanine, Raichu, Togekiss, Lucario, and Milotic can be used here since they're all obtainable at level 10.

EDIT: Damn it, ninja'd

Richu? Hell, you can use Pikachu! Not to mention Gliscor, Ninetales, Milotic, Heracross...the list goes on forever. Suddenly I really want to play this.

I think this is a complete list of fully-evolved pokes at lv. 10.

Hi I'm a random poster again and I need to say that you can also get an event Electabuzz and Magmar that you can evolve into Electivire and Magmortar however these two pokemon can only have 4 moves. Both are found at level 10 at the event and can be traded to evolve. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Japanese_Nintendo_event_Pokémon_in_2006#Electabuzz

ninetales got banned a while ago, sun teams were way too strong, and it has seemed so far that hurting them by giving them only vulpix to set sun balances them

Okay, I'll remove Ninetales, if what you say is true.

All pokemon can only use moves available at level 10 (egg moves are allowed, event moves are allowed, but move tutor moves and TM/HMs are not. Heart Scale move tutor moves are allowed)
It is not stated what generation. For the most part, I doubt it matters. As long as it is obtained before or at Level 10, it is allowed.

For example, Zangoose gets Swords Dance at Level 9 in BW. In BW2, it gets it at Level 43.

I believe that so long as it is obtainable in the latest game at that level with that move following these rules, it can hold the move. So it is to my understanding that Zangoose is allowed Swords Dance.

Indeed. I assume that even if, say, Vulpix learns Surf at Level 8 (in Emerald only) it would be legal in this tier.

I KNOW THAT VULPIX DOES NOT LEARN SURF, IT WAS JUST AN EXAMPLE.

You forgot Electrode. It is available at Level 3, if you trade a Level 3 Raichu in the Pokémon Lab at Cinnabar Island in FR/LG.
