The Ubers Replay Thread

Swapping Mewtwo in to Politoed instead of swapping in palkia/ferro is likely what cost you the game. If palkia was swapped in, you could spam thunder if you had it, and cause Ginjaninja a lot of trouble. This would mean when keldeo was brought in, you could likely sac someone to secret sword, and bring in mewtwo.

Here's another of my battles. I had fought this person before, but he had to leave before we could finish it.

I really liked that defensive core, what spread are you using on your Darkceus? I may steal it for one of my own stall teams. :P I also really liked that EBelt Genesect. It was a great way to fool the OP into expecting Choice Scarf and wall breaking like that.

Here's what your looking for, Melee Mewtwo.

Here's an interesting battle showing the power of SubShuffler Giratina-O (a pseudo-sweep). Maybe not against a very skilled opponent, but a good one for those who are unfamiliar with this amazingly effective set.

Too bad the battle ended in a rage quit (?), but I don't think it mattered, as I could've EQ'd his Heatran with Gira-O and a physically defensive *sleeping* Giratina surely can't beat EBelt Palkia with Draco Meteor.
Btw I'm Trollol97 and the team is inspired from alexwolf's "The Unspinnables".

Hahaha that was against me, I was trying to see if I could make Arceus-Ground use gravity so that it could run a mono attacking set. But sadly this and a few other battles with different style teams suggest that no, it can't. Shame I had to learn the hard way that Sub Giratina utterly wrecked this team from the first attempt! And I quit because I most definitely could not do anything with the 2 Pokemon that I had left :P

Derp, for some reason I thought the onsite Support Darkceus ran speed or something lol.

Cool replay Sweep, Latios is a really under rated threat and too many teams often overlook him. (mind you, we are talking about the ladder) The replay does give an excellent example on how useful that Levitate ability is.

Okay so I've been playtesting a Zoroark + Darkrai combo to see if the former has any viability in Ubers in the same sort of way Salamence used to before Moxie. (In other words, as Pokemon that can pair up with another generally superior but very similar Pokemon, in this case Darkrai, to soften the checks/counters for the other to sweep.) I've been liking it so far and I'll be updating this post with any somewhat worthwhile replays. Mind you, they are all ladder battles but at least they kinda show that the concept could work in practice.

http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers10562009 Zoro cleans after Rai
http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers10579148 Zoro helps take out a check (or well two thanks to poor play) for Rai
http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers10618568 Expected Void got a Plot
http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers10619802 Rai would have cleaned after Zoro but Void misses
http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers10639820 Zoro successfully eliminates Terrakion after misleading opponent into expecting a Dark Void
http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers10689616 Zoro MVP (I actually played the same guy earlier where Zoro had successfully lured out and removed EKiller but then a bunch of following hax ruined that battle's replay value)
http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers10788787 Zoro gets rid of the annoying T-Wave Thundy so that Rai has no issue sweeping later

I'll keep updating this post as I get more. Please share your thoughts.

Nice offensive core. Watch out for sleep talking scarfers, and Mewtwo, if it somehow gets a chance to switch in. Darkrai's ability to force switches makes this core even better.

Epic mono-attacker GhostCeus sweep -
http://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers11306355
This thing is really hard to stop for any team lacking the pink blobs/NormalCeus.
Also, I didn't get that Dragonite set in the battle. It outsped my Jolly Groudon (306 Spe), but was slower than my weirdly-EVed Arceus (352 Spe). Even Adamant Scarf should reach about 388, so any thoughts on what could it be?

Only thing I could think of is maybe he's Mixed and didn't invest much at all in Speed. Either way no one should be using Dragonite in Ubers

Here's the first decent ubers battle I have gotten all week.

If I played my Darkrai better or if I got my fucking rocks up. (it's a sun team for god sake) I would have easily won, but I still have dat über noober blood in me.

BTW I am using my brainless ladder team that gives me a win chance against almost any team I face.

Cool battle, Poppy was outplaying you hard early on but taking out Ekiller meant SubRai had no problem being a jerk later on. Speaking of which, why did you not Sub when you had it in on the sleeping Tina? Even if it decided to stay in, it would have to get lucky with Sleep Talk and hit Roar for it to be bothersome. Staying in would be a ballsy move on Poppy's part, anyways, seeing as Bad Dreams plus the threat of Dark Pulse made banking on luck a bad idea. Course, I'm probably missing something obvious, cool battle.

Furai edit: didnt want to risk it

tehy

Banned deucer.
I think the real misplay question is why he didn't Sub again on the second-to-last turn. If Genesect U-turns out to Latios, then he breaks your sub, Latios dies, and Genesect comes back in and starts U-turning stuff in the face. I'm not really sure how bulky that Latias is so it might've been able to take a U-turn, but still, that was a big risk for no reason-after lefties, Darkrai could even have made another Sub on top of that.

Furai edit: You're absolutely correct, scouting his move would've been better.

Hey all, trixter109 here with a truly hilarious battle. This me battling with an Uber Sun team I have been working on for a while, and after the first few turns, I decide to just go full on Chansey Toxic Stall. The result is a truly hilarious 40 turns of rage and Chansey. The kid eventually rage-quit, but I still got a huge laugh out of it. I know this isn't entirely serious, but it was to good to not post it. Trust me, you will have wet your pants by the end of it.

EDIT: I just watched it through the link and it puts me on other side. My name on PS is trixter108. I don't know why it did that, maybe it's only me.

Thanks for reading,
trixter109

Furai vs. me

Good battle, and shows some less common sets. Thankfully has just about no hax (except a Dragon Tail miss). We both made misplays (setting up SR early in the match allowed Forry to get an extra layer of Spikes (and the turn used to setup SR could've mauled Kyogre), I kept a sitting duck infront of a sleeping Kyogre when I could've taken advantage of it, Furai allowed Water Arceus to get back into the game by using Recover instead of CM), but we both managed to recover. Resulted in an extremely close ending.
