Pokémon trivia you may have missed!

Wrong.

Meowth and mewtwo have never been confirmed by Nintendo to be in any kind of development in 64. iirc, bowser and king dedede were the only canceled characters that were actually going to be in the game, but there has been speculation over things ranging from Pit to Meowth, all of which are undoubtedly loose speculation.
Actually, Mewtwo had indeed been planned for 64, along with Bowser and Dedede. However, Meowth, Pit, and Peach have never been stated by Sakurai to have been planned. See the first fact here, which is properly cited:

Oh, in brawl there was the forbidden 7. Mewtwo, dr. mario, plusle and minun, toon zelda, tetra, Roy and Dixie kong.

Also is that guy that you linked, reaverz, a nintendo worker? I didn't see any linked evidence.

Here's something interesting for those curious about in game characters.

Ghetsis has never shown his right arm. In all his appearances it's always been concealed by his cloaks. The only time it actually is seen is in the opening of Black and White. Funny thing is, it looks... odd.

As you can see, his right arm is discolored, and considering his robe looks normal on that side, it doesn't look like it's just weird lighting.

It gets more bizarre when you consider that Ghetsis wears an eyepatch over his right eye. It's almost like something happened to him that disfigured his right side... Thoughts?

His black arm looks like it had severe frostbite injuries, maybe he had an encounter with Kyurem way before Black/White?

he has one black arm, and one white arm

Nintendo really knew no limit to the number of things they could contrast did they

Right side represents truth; he hides his right arm always because he hides the truth of what he wants.

Left side represents ideals; when he speaks he gestures with his left hand, representing the ideals of the world he is pushing forward.

The truth might be the fact he's experimenting on Kyurem?

In Pokémon Gold and Silver (at least in French, dunno about other languages) there's a Cooltrainer in Route 27 who, when defeated, sings the two first lines of the opening theme of "The Mysterious Cities of Gold".

I've never noticed this until I re-listened to the theme and compared this to his dialogue.

May not have been an intended inclusion by GameFreak (more of a fan conclusion), but you can infer something about Hitmonchan based on his stats. As expected, he has high attack, but somewhat unexpectedly, he has high special defense. Special Defense means the ability to take hits from farther away than hand-to-hand combat up close. But why would a boxer have stats like this? In boxing, there are in- and out-fighters. In fighters rely on fast attack and deflection up close, while out fighters rely more on jabs and staying back from the opponent. So, Hitmonchan's high special defense actually points to him being an out-fighter, much like the self proclaimed "Greatest" of all time. Just a deeper angle that I always thought was pretty cool.

The Torchic line is based off of fried chicken and is named as such(fire synonym+the word chick or chicken). However, something you may not have picked up on is that Combus-ken and Blazi-ken are fighting types and end in the Japanese word for fist.

This assertion is almost certainly false. Based on the Japanese names for the second and third stages (Wakashamo and Burshamo), and the fact that they are Fighting-type chickens, the logical explanation is that they derive at least part of their inspiration from the shamo, a breed of Japanese chicken once raised for cockfighting that is known for standing with an upright posture (as both Combusken and Blaziken do) and having a feathery mane on its neck (as Blaziken does). The line's Fire typing is likely connected to the basan, a fire-breathing chicken from Japanese mythology. Given this information and the fact that Game Freak has a long history of basing their Pokemon on real animals and creatures from Japanese mythology, there's little reason to believe that these Pokemon derived any inspiration from KFC.
