In flavormons, every facet of the game inconsistent with the game's flavor text is considered a bug, and we are responsible for fixing any bugs we find.

(examples from the anime are not considered here, just information obtained in-game)
approved by Arcticblast post-haste, although since chaos owns Smogon I don't really have a choice in that matter

Examples:

Garchomp

"It flies at speeds equal to a jet fighter plane. It never allows its prey to escape."

From this flavor text, we can deduce that Garchomp's type and ability are incorrect: it needs to be part flying, and have the ability Shadow Tag.

Escavalier

"They fly around at high speed, striking with their pointed spears. Even when in trouble, they face opponents bravely."

We can also deduce that Esca should actually be part flying, and that base 20 speed is a mistake. (Maybe base 100? What is considered "high speed"? We need to compare with the flavor text of other mons).

Victini

"This Pokémon brings victory. It is said that Trainers with Victini always win, regardless of the type of encounter."

Therefore, if a player has Victini, they auto-win. We either need to ban Victini, or every team must have one.

Sharpedo

"It can swim at speeds of 75 mph by jetting seawater through its body. It is the bandit of the sea."

OK, but if we check Rapidash's flavor text:

"It gallops at nearly 150 mph. With its mane blazing ferociously, it races as if it were an arrow."

Therefore, Sharpedo needs to be either half as fast as Rapidash, or Rapidash needs to be twice the speed of Sharpedo. I think Speed Boost is also out.

Salamence

"It’s uncontrollable if enraged. It flies around spouting flames and scorching fields and mountains."

This suggests to me that Outrage should actually be Fire type.

Dragonair

"DRAGONAIR stores an enormous amount of energy inside its body. It is said to alter weather conditions in its vicinity by discharging energy from the crystals on its neck and tail."

Should have Air Lock?

Your turn!

Joim has agreed to implement the meta we come up with :) Have fun!

<&chaos> hahahaha holy shit
<&chaos> pidgeot
<&chaos> It spreads its beautiful wings wide to frighten its enemies. It can fly at Mach 2 speed.
<&chaos> Mach 2????

Mach 2 is 1522 mph. Rapidash goes at 150mph. Therefore, Pidgeot is 10 times faster than Rapidash. Does that mean it has 1050 base speed?

We should ban Shedinja, since it sucks players' souls and kill them before they can make their Pokémon to move.

Additional comments to chaos' Pokémon:
Sharpedo needs to always have the move Thief since it's a bandit.
Salamance should be dragon/flying/fire too.

Venusaur
"After a rainy day, the flower on its back smells stronger. The scent attracts other Pokémon."
Therefor all Pokémon are infatuated against Venusaur in Drizzle regardless of their gender.

Charizard (Emerald)
"A Charizard flies about in search of strong opponents. It breathes intense flames that can melt any material. However, it will never torch a weaker foe."
If a Pokémon is lower level than Charizard, it will not attack.
(Red)
"It spits fire that is hot enough to melt boulders. Known to cause forest fires unintentionally."
Fire is x2 against Rock now.
(Stadium)
"Its fiery breath reaches incredible temperatures. It can quickly melt glaciers weighing 10,000 tons."
It has to OHKO any Ice type with any fire move. Even ember.

Haunter

"Its tongue is made of gas. If licked, its victim starts shaking constantly until death eventually comes."

If Haunter uses Lick the opponent's HP should slowly decrease. I'm not sure in what fashion though, maybe it works similarly to toxic or maybe similarly to curse.

Slugma

"It never sleeps. It has to keep moving because if it stopped, its magma body would cool and harden.

Slugma should have the Insomnia ability judging from this dex entry.

Magikarp

"Magikarp is virtually useless in battle as it can only splash around. As a result, it is considered to be weak. However, it is actually a very hardy Pokémon that can survive in any body of water no matter how polluted it is."

If Rain Dance is in play, Magikarp cannot faint.

Froslass

"It freezes prey by blowing its -58 degrees F breath."

If Froslass uses Frost Breath, the opponent should freeze as a secondary effect.

<&chaos> Mach 2????

Mach 2 is 1522 mph. Rapidash goes at 150mph. Therefore, Pidgeot is 10 times faster than Rapidash. Does that mean it has 1050 base speed?
Following this logic (91 base speed = mach 2), Deoxys-s moves at 3010 mph unboosted, maybe give him +1 evasion as a default? (also, with +6 speed and Choice Scarf, he would effectively be traveling at 18063 mph)

MAGCARGO's body temperature is approximately 18,000 degrees F. Water is vaporized on contact. If this POKéMON is caught in the rain, the raindrops instantly turn into steam, cloaking the area in a thick fog.
Instakill on Water types, rain becomes fog (assuming thats still a weather type in gen 5).

Golduck: Sapphire

Golduck is the fastest swimmer among all Pokémon. It swims effortlessly, even in a rough, stormy sea. It sometimes rescues people from wrecked ships floundering in high seas.

By this logic, Golduck should be able to outpace any Pokémon no matter what when it is raining.

Dewgong: FireRed

Its body is covered with a pure white fur. The colder the weather, the more active it becomes.

By this logic, Dewgong' speed should double when in Hail.

Skarmory

"Despite being clad entirely in iron-hard armor, it flies at speeds over 180 mph."

Needs to be faster than Rapidash...

Regice

"It is said to have slept in a glacier for thousands of years. Its body can’t be melted, even by magma."

Immune to fire attacks?

Lugia

"It sleeps in a deep-sea trench. If it flaps its wings, it is said to cause a 40-day storm."

Presumably it has to flap its wings to stay in the air, so perhaps Drizzle is an appropriate ability?

Tyranitar

"Its body can’t be harmed by any sort of attack, so it is very eager to make challenges against enemies."

I think it's better to think that most base speeds are just wrong xD

So Golduck gets Swift Swim.

Okay, some collection of the IRC talk:
<&chaos> DRAGONAIR stores an enormous amount of energy inside its body. It is said to alter weather conditions in its vicinity by discharging energy from the crystals on its neck and tail.
<&chaos> should have air lock?

<%Joim> all Pokémon with "fast" in their falvor description shall have espeed in their movepool <. y
<%Growlithe> I've always argued for Pidgeot to get Extremespeed :(
<%Joim> if they have hands, mach punch
<%Growlithe> Machamp's Mach Punch
<%Growlithe> needs to be about
<%Growlithe> base 200
<%Growlithe> because it can punch 1000x in seconds
<%sandshrewz> macke that 1000x40 then
<%sandshrewz> lmao

<%Joim> Charizard (Stadium)
<%Joim> "Its fiery breath reaches incredible temperatures. It can quickly melt glaciers weighing 10,000 tons."
<%Joim> It has to OHKO any Ice type with any fire move. Even ember.

<&chaos> regice:
<&chaos> It is said to have slept in a glacier for thousands of years. Its body can’t be melted, even by magma.
<&chaos> i'm pretty sure that means its immune to fire
<%Growlithe> Regice w/ Flash Fire
<%Growlithe> lgi

<%Joim> Pikachu (Red) "When several of these Pokémon gather, their electricity could build and cause lightning storms. "
<%sandshrewz> Drizzle e_e
<%Joim> Therefor Pikachu has Drizzle?
<&GreatSage> only when there are six of them in your team
<%Joim> B/W: "It occasionally uses an electric shock to recharge a fellow Pikachu that is in a weakened state." That means if you have 2 Pikachus they heal eachother

<%Growlithe> TTar should get Rock Wrecker
<%Growlithe> since it can level mountains

<%Joim> Zapdos (Crystal) "Legendary bird Pokémon. They say lightning caused by the flapping of its wings causes summer storms. "
<%Growlithe> IT
<%Growlithe> FUCKING
<%Growlithe> GETS
<%Growlithe> HURRICANE
<%Joim> Of course it gets Hurricane
<%Joim> lgi

<&chaos> camerupt: "The volcanoes on its back have a major eruption every 10 years--or whenever it becomes really angry." so if it uses eruption, its either been 10 years since the last (unlikely) or its mad and therefore gets +6 from anger point
<%Joim> camerupt op
<%Growlithe> +6 from anger point

<%Joim> Mewtwo (Stadium) "A vicious psychic Pokémon created by genetic engineering. Its cold glowing eyes strike fear into the hearts of its enemies " That means we need a new pseudo-status, "fear", prevents enemies from moving

<&chaos> Crawdaunt: "Loving to battle, this Pokémon pinches all Pokémon that enter its territory with its pincers and throws them out."
<&chaos> perhaps its ability is auto red-card?
<&chaos> attack it and you get thrown out
<%Growlithe> all moves are circle throw

<%jdarden> Houndoom: The flames it breathes when angry contain toxins. If they cause a burn, it will hurt forever.
<%jdarden> 100% burn rate, can't be healed with aromatheraphy/heal bell
<%sandshrewz> badly burnt

<%Joim> Liepard "Stealthily, it sneaks up on its target, striking from behind before its victim has a chance to react." Liepard always attacks first

<&chaos> latias: "Its body is covered with a down that can refract light in such a way that it becomes invisible."
<%sandshrewz> illusion imo
<%sandshrewz> it can appear as anything
<&chaos> yeah illusion makes sense; latias is invisible and you see the next pokemon on your team

<%Growlithe> Ampharos needs Tail Glow

<&chaos> flygon: "It whips up sandstorms with powerful flaps of its wings. It is known as “The Desert Spirit.”"
<&chaos> sandstream flygon lgi
<%sandshrewz> it should still keep levitate though

(about Magikarp)
<%sandshrewz> Water Absorb
<%sandshrewz> + Rain Dish
<&chaos> that flavor text suggests it can survive any water attack, not that its immortal
<%Joim> water absorb then
<%sandshrewz> survive in an electrified water y/n
<&chaos> also "no matter how polluted it is"... immune to poison...?
<%Joim> ^ yeah!
<&chaos> def. immune to toxic

Gyarados
<%Joim> "Rarely seen in the wild. Huge and vicious, it is capable of destroying entire cities in a rage. "
<%sandshrewz> RAGE is OHKO
<%sandshrewz> or Thrash
<%Joim> Silver: "Once it appears, it goes on a rampage. It remains enraged until it demolishes everything around it. "
<%sandshrewz> or Outrage
<%Joim> It auto-outrages everything
<%sandshrewz> infinite turn Outrage
<%Joim> and no confusion
<%Joim> "Once Gyarados goes on a rampage, its ferociously violent blood doesn't calm until it has burned everything down. There are records of this Pokémon's rampages lasting a whole month. "
<%Joim> "burned everything down"
<%Joim> this supports the theory: outrage is indeed fire-type
<%Joim> Also, "It has an extremely aggressive nature. The Hyper Beam it shoots from its mouth totally incinerates all targets. "
<%Joim> hyper beam from gyarados = ko
<%Joim> platinum: "Once it begins to rampage, a Gyarados will burn everything down, even in a harsh storm. " <- he uses fire that does not debuff in rain

<%Joim> Serperior: "Serperior, the Regal Pokémon and the evolved form of Servine. Serperior's glare can halt its opponent's movement. It increases the solar energy it absorbs. " Serperior can learn Glare only when obtained from: gen 5 egg: arbok, dunsparce, ekans, seviper, ...
<%Joim> 100% acc Glare
<%Joim> "They raise their heads to intimidate opponents but only give it their all when fighting a powerful opponent. " Serperior gets intimidate
<%sandshrewz> SolarBeam is stronger or has no charge on serp

<%Joim> Mew (Silver): "Its DNA is said to contain the genetic codes of all Pokémon, so it can use all kinds of techniques. " Mew must learn ALL moves.
<%Joim> Crystal: "Because it can learn any move, some people began research to see if it is the ancestor of all Pokémon. "
<&chaos> well, there you go
<&chaos> mew learns all moves
<%Joim> also it turns invisible too
<%Limi> invisible? guess you could give it illusion

Dragonite
<%Joim> Also, Stadium: "Has intelligence on par with people. This "sea guardian" is said to be capable of flying around the globe in about 16 hours."
<%Limi> that's more than mach 2
<%Limi> sounds like SOUNDPROOF

<&chaos> fera: "It usually moves slowly, but it goes at blinding speed when it attacks and bites prey." 78 base speed seems slow for this, so maybe it has reverse-prankster: attack moves have priority
<%sandshrewz> it has infinite ExtremeSpeed PP

<%Joim> Anime dex #1 for Salamence: "and has the fastest speed of all the Flying-type Pokémon. "
<%Joim> Another entry: "It becomes uncontrollable if enraged. It destroys everything with shredding claws and fire. "

<&chaos> umbreon: When agitated, this Pokémon protects itself by spraying poisonous sweat from its pores.
<&chaos> poison point?

<&chaos> forry: "It remains immovably rooted to its tree. It scatters pieces of its hard shell to drive its enemies away."
<&chaos> auto ingrain?

<%Joim> White Dex for Reshiram: "When Reshiram's tail flares, the heat energy moves the atmosphere and changes the world's weather. "
<%Joim> ^ air lock
<%Limi> air lock? more like drought

<&chaos> piloswine: "Because the long hair all over its body obscures its sight, it just keeps charging repeatedly."
<&chaos> hustle?

<%Joim> Gold dex for Celebi: "This Pokémon wanders across time. Grass and trees flourish in the forests in which it has appeared. "
<%Joim> heals all grass types upon switch in.

<%Joim> Cloyster is full of this mentions: "Its shell is extremely hard. It cannot be shattered, even with a bomb. The shell opens only when it is attacking. " but it learns shell smash
<%Joim> but he can't smash its shell in the first place!

Oh man, this is so cool.

Ruby said:
Shedinja's hard body doesn't move - not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back.
Clearly, if Shedinja switches out while the enemy does not, the enemy will faint. (If it has a spirit? That might be hard to determine.)

But... Machamp is probably the most broken thing I've seen.

Stadium said:
Among its fighting moves is a simultaneous volley of an uppercut, hook, straight and karate chop from its four arms.
Clearly, it needs to be able to use Sky Uppercut, Cross Chop, Brick Break, and Karate Chop all at once.

Hey, that's not that bad. Ghost types and 4x resists might survive.

Fire Red said:
Its four ruggedly developed arms can launch a flurry of 1,000 punches in just two seconds.
So... 1,000 Mach Punches in a round. Maybe reduce the base power to 1, but that's still 1000 damage. Hmm. reduce the accuracy per hit to 20 percent?

Leaf Green said:
Using its heavy muscles, it throws powerful punches that can send the victim clear over the horizon.
Pearl said:
It can knock a train flying with a punch. However, it is terrible at delicate work using its fingers.
Every time it hits a foe with a punch, they're forced out like Circle Throw. :naughty:

Now, for Xatu...
Ruby said:
Xatu stands rooted and still in one spot all day long. People believe that this Pokémon does so out of fear of the terrible things it has foreseen in the future.
Clearly, Xatu should automatically initiate Future Sight upon switching in. Or every round. I don't know.

Golurk
Black said:
It flies across the sky at Mach speeds. Removing the seal on its chest makes its internal energy go out of control.
Golurk has base 525 base speed, and needs either Levitate as an ability or Flying type.

Throh
White said:
When they encounter foes bigger than themselves, they try to throw them. They always travel in packs of five.
If you want one Throh, you have to have four more. Anything taller/heavier than them is automatically Circle Thrown.

Crazy stuff, guys. I like this metagame already. Definitely should be part of the Premier League next time.

Illusion for Latias?

Linoone Emerald entry: "It is exceedingly fast if it only has to run in a straight line. When it spots pond-dwelling prey underwater, it quickly leaps in and catches it with its sharp claws."

If the opponent is a water-type, Linoone is always faster/Its moves are boosted by 1.5x?

Kadabra

"If one is nearby, an eerie shadow appears on TV screens. Seeing the shadow is said to bring bad luck."

So, if you bring in Kadabra, your opp is more likely to miss Focus Blasts and get CHed at critical times ;)

Leafeon

B/W1 dex: It basically does not fight. With cells similar to those of plants, it can perform photosynthesis.

can not attack with leafeon.

Glaceon

B/W2 dex : It lowers its body heat to freeze its fur. The hairs then become like needles it can fire.

should get pin missile/ twin needle.

HG/SS dex: It causes small ice crystals to form by lowering the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere.

should have Snow Warning.

Golurk

Black 1 dex: It flies across the sky at Mach speeds. Removing the seal on its chest makes its internal energy go out of control.

needs to be faster.

Oh my, this thread is moving quickly. I have a proposition for all of these Mach-based speeds. They're set to 1 if an enemy has Soundproof. Why? Mach speed is the speed of sound: which is zero if sound can't travel. Ohoho!

I have a couple (p.s i love the idea)

Blastoise firered
It crushes its foe under its heavy body to cause fainting. In a pinch, it will withdraw inside its shell.
body slam should be an OHKO with it.

Ninjask DPP
Because it moves so quickly, it sometimes becomes unseeable.
Speed boosts for it should also raise evasion.

Bellsprout Ruby
From its mouth, this POKéMON spits a corrosive fluid that melts even iron.
Its toxic should hit steels

Victreebell ruby
When an unsuspecting prey draws near, this POKéMON swallows it whole.
its bug bite should be an OHKO and it should get rid of the pokemon.

Thats just a few.

Rayquaza Ruby:

RAYQUAZA lived for hundreds of millions of years in the earth's ozone layer, never descending to the ground. This POKéMON appears to feed on water and particles in the atmosphere.

Water Absorb imo, or Storm Drain, or something similar. Ofc it also keeps Air Lock.

Ho-Oh Leafgreen:

Legends claim this POKéMON flies the world's skies continuously on its magnificent seven-colored wings.

Can never use Roost lol.

Mewtwo Silver:

Silver: It usually remains motionless to conserve energy, so that it may unleash its full power in battle.

Can only use Bide gg.

I got some entries from www.serebii.net and here are some for my favorites (BW):

Hariyama

"It loves to match its power with big-bodied Pokemon. It can knock a truck flying with its arm thrusts."

Add Circle Throw to Hariyama's movepool.

Torterra

"Some Pokemon are born on a Torterra's back and spend their entire life there."

Add Assist to Torterra's movepool. Also, make it so moves that Torterra uses with a Helping Hand boost get x2 power rather than x1.5.

Pikachu

"It occasionally uses an electric shock to recharge a fellow Pikachu that is in a weakened state."

The entire Pikachu family should have Volt Absorb as an additional ability.

Vanilluxe

"Swallowing large amounts of water, they make snow clouds inside their bodies and attack their foes with violent blizzards."

Add Water Absorb as an ability for Vanilluxe.

So, after three turns of combat, Hitmonchan goes to sleep. Maybe it should fully recover its health when it naps.

Probably something like Aftermath. Or just the effect of Aftermath. It's supposed to expend all it's energy to do that, so Destiny Bond or damage-upon-death should work.
