Janiven responds to Claudio, "A month or two back there was an a sharp increase in the number of highwaymen attacks outside the city. It has kept the dottari very busy. But none of them were brazen enough to operate inside the city limits, not until the Bastards of Erebus showed up. They were small time players operating somewhere in the Rego Despero, a gang of only Tieflings. However now they have been robbing shops and households after nightfall. This has even led to two different murder cases. They leave behind wooden coins carved with the face of Mammon. They are a top priority, but Arael was meeting an informant about it when he was betrayed and captured by the dottari."
Tarvi puts a hand on Crulamin's shoulder, "We were at least safe from the shadow beasts as long as we were in our own homes. Now even that has been taken away from us. They murdered a whole family working at a rival jewelry store. That could have been my family."
Janiven continues, "We need to rescue Arael tomorrow. But for now we all need some rest. Nerisella should recover a bit from her poison before answering my question, she doesn't seem of a right mind."
