Intro:
Hello everybody :]
I know that you're here, needing help in getting the right nature when doing the somewhat hard process of Entralink RNG. I know that most of the time we spend a whole lot of sleepless hours and wasted time, just to get our perfect pokemon with the right combination of IVs and natures. Now, worry not too much, because this guide might help reduce the randomness of the desired natures of your dream pokemon :3
Prerequisites:
- Basic Knowledge in Standard Seed, and C-Gear & Entralink RNGs. Try reading Sephirona's Basic Entralink RNG Guide.
- RNG Reporter of course. Newer versions like 9.94 will do.
- Your Nintendo DS of course. Make sure you also have its MAC Address, which is required for all kinds of RNG Abuse, C-Gear or non C-Gear.
- Your game cartridge obviously. Remember its language too.
- At least one Master Ball.
- At least 2 Chatots, with a recorded voice.
- A Sweet Scenter.
- Stopwatch or EonTimer or any Timer you prefer to use.
- The type of Pokeball you intend to use for your target. Just bring at least one, since all Pokeballs will be "Master Balls" (always guarantee capture no matter what target Pokemon it is) when inside the Entralink.
- Patience, Persistence, and Luck :p
OK, let's move on to the first step...
Step 1: Preparations
- First of all, you have to move all Pokemon to the deepest clearing, except your target Pokemon, to minimize too much unnecessary PID advances. But since the deepest clearing will only store up to 10 pokemon, you may be unable to move all non-target pokemon there. If you feel you don't need some, just capture some without doing the RNG process, if you like.
- Take note that Arceus will automatically be stored to a clearing just below the deepest clearing, and it can't be transferred to the first clearing, but can be moved to the deepest clearing. If you plan to RNG Arceus, remember not to have any pokemon in the first clearing, to minimize unnecessary advances.
- To save some time, put your pokeball(s) you wanna use to the top of the list from your bag, so that you don't have to scroll around to find what pokeball you intend to use to capture the pokemon. Because the Dream Ball will appear out of the blue, it will always appear on the top left when accessing your bag.
- It's recommended that you save in an area (outside any caves/buidings) without WNPCs, like Route 9 or Pokemon League, to eliminate some more unnecessary advances. Activate a repel if necessary before saving, if you plan to do some IV frame advancements, which I'll explain later.
- Also recommended is that your party must be at most 5, so that you can check approximately the IVs of your captured pokemon, otherwise you'll be wasting time by going to the PC to check the poke's IVs.
- Having at least 2 Chatots is also required, so you will know what standard seed/timer0 you hit, which I'll explain later too.
Step 2: Finding a C-Gear Seed and an appropriate Target Time
Before everything else, take note encountering a pokemon in the entralink advances by 21 frames. Saying no in encountering it also advances the IV Frame, but by 26 instead. Also take note that you have to do a lot of running/walking to encounter your target pokemon, so this will advance frames depending the number of your party. So if you have 3 pokes in your party, and you've stepped over the 128-step counter, the IV frame will also advance additionally by 3.
Because of having at least 2 Chatots and having a max of 5 pokemon, that will mean a minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 IV frame advances by doing that 128-step IV advancement thing.
Here's an approximate formula for the IV advancements:
Target frame = (No. of steps/128)*(No. of pokemon in party) + 26*(No. of times you said no to encountering the target pokemon) + 21 (Encountering the target pokemon)
An example is if you run/walk 128 steps, having 3 pokemon in your party, and you said no 2 times before encountering and catching the pokemon, you'll end up at frame 76, because:
Target frame =
128/128 * 3 +
26 * 2 +
21 =
1 * 3 +
52 +
21 = 3 + 52 + 21 =
frame 76
Like I mentioned before, using a repel/super/max repel is recommended to keep track on how many steps you've executed. For example, if you plan to walk 128 steps, use a repel, and after you're notified that the repel wears off, do the remaining 28 steps carefully.
OK time to search for seeds as usual. Choose the IVs (C-Gear Seed) method, and encounter type to be Stationary Pokemon. Then enter the necessary parameters like IVs, year, and the min/max delays.
● It's recommended to use 3500 as the minimum delay. Not too low or you'll be unable to do the chatot voice verification on time before turning on the C-Gear.
● To see your adjacent seeds accurately, enter in the min/max frame of the Seed to Times/Adjacent Finder window the frame of your seed.
To give you an idea how to do this Entralink RNG process, I'll show you a picture/timeline of the whole thing...
After choosing an appropriate target time from the Seed to Times Window, then time to move on for the Standard Seed Identification/Calibration.
Step 3: Standard Seed and Timer0 Identification/Calibration.
The next step is to determine the 2 Timer0s you'll be ending up using in your game, depending on the version (and probably the DS you're using). Personally, the Timer0s I use are C83 & C84 for Black version and C91 & C92 for White version, using a DS Lite.
To find out your Timer0s, save inside a place with higher-leveled wild pokemon such as Victory Road or Giant Chasm, and don't forget to have a sweet scenter in your party, plus a Master Ball.
After saving, change the time of your DS to anything, such as 16:30 for example. Since we're calibrating for the Timer0s, we just have to choose any hour/minute/date combination.
To be continued (again)...
