Hey tell stories not only about the game, but the drama of getting the game.
I did not realize it was coming out till Tuesday. I called all the gamestops in town (about a dozen) but they did not have enough to even cover their preorders, but they said they would have them today. I called this morning and asked them to hold one for me. Then I asked my wife if she would pick it up while I was at work. She not only got it, she pre-orderd Black 2 for me.
When I got home, I got to play it for a half hour, but then I had to go to my daughters choir concert. My 8 year old son asked if he could start over and play it while I was gone. When I came back he begged me to let him play a little more because he had got 8 pokes and defeated two cities. I am such a sucker for the sweet little child, I said I would let him play for two more days.

Onething I noticed last night is positioning is important. If you are higher than your opponent, you have an advantage. Also if you can attack them from the side or especially from behind you have an advantage. Some move, like ember, can only be used from one space away, so if you can pen in an ember user, they are helpless. I am not sure if you can use a range move like ember over your own team mate. I will have to try that.
Also you can move thru your teammate, but can't stop on the same square.
I got a lttile confused on marching from one of your own castles vs attacking. I kept trying to march to an enemy castle, but you just click on it and choose the battle option, then it asks you where you want to invade from. You can take units from multiple locations.

Here is some more info my son told me this morning - he got all the in game tips, so I will try to relay them.
He said that you have to defeat a trainer in 4 turns to recruit them.
Most moves you have to be next to the poke to use, but flame wheel you start out one square away and you move up as you use the move.
Ember as mentioned you have to be one square away and you stay where you are after using the move.
Human's abilities can be used ones a battle. The jumpluff girl has an ability to heal some damage for all team pokemon once per turn.
Does anybody know if you are stuck with the same started poke - evee for the guy, or can you restart and ge another started poke?
The instructions said that trainers are better with certain type of poke, but I have not really looked into that too much.
Have not evolved yet or caught second pokes yet. Apparently you can only use one poke in battle, but having a variety to choose from would be nice.
