BU/Sleep Talk/Rest/DynamicPunch Machop with max HP max Sp.Def and Eviolite is probably the only gimmick I made that actually worked. (take out ghosts first though)

IIRC, it HP was around 350, it's Sp.Def was about 500 and it's Defense whas about 550 after one BU. That's just as bulky as porgyon2, with much higher attack stat (although, less utility)

Counter-sash/memento zoroark was pretty cool lead with it, get a surprise ko, use memento to set up my dd sweeper, taunt and sucker punch were for anything that wasn't vulnerable to counter.

So going back to Gen IV...I successfully had my scizor use HP fire to kill another scizor. XDDD. I've also trolled with mixed attacking LO granbull and swept with CM chimecho.

Hey, I have a gimmick that's actually pretty legit.
Choice Band Politoed.
Adamant, 252 speed, 252 attack 6 hp
-Brick Break (about 80% to Tyranitar. Any prior damage and it's dead.)
-Waterfall (hits everything in rain for decent damage)
-Earthquake (about 90% to Ninetales, OHKO with SR. 9% chance to OHKO on full health.)
-Toxic (or any move to give the impression your running a regular set)

This thing is built and meant to win the weatherwar, reacting to the weather switch. Tyranitar wakes Surfs all day in SS, but a Brick Break to the face is too much. Ninetales likes the debuff sun gives water attacks, taking residual damage for granted, but dies to a well timed Earthquake.

Taking advantage of the fact that Politoed's special movepool just plain sucks. A water attack, Focus Blast and... Round? It's physical movepool is a lot better coveragewise. It's attack isn't that much worse than it's Sp.Atk. 75 atk to 90 sp.atk. Surprise someone with it!

It's fun to experiment. I say screw the haters of these outside-the-box sets.

Ridiculous but it packs a massive punch when you have access to STAB close combat and Last Resort. As well as Meloetta being faster than Tornadus-T providing a great opportunity to be a late game sweeper or surprise offensive lead. Obviously ignore using it as the latter if your opponent has ghost types.
