Ivysaur is terribad. Hell, the Pokemon Trainer in general is terribad.

Squirtle has no Smash attacks and can do nothing but spam his front and back aerials.
Ivysaur can't do anything except for short hopping his front aerial and use Bullet Seed.
Charizard can do a lot of things, but Rock Smash, his up smash and his back aerial cover enough themselves.

Honestly, it's just the worst designed character in the game. The only Pokemon that can actually do anything is the one who only needs two or three of its attacks.
