Thanks to the very first Smogcast, the effectiveness of Life Orb Sceptile was made known to Smogonites. Do you think Sceptile has a chance of moving to OU because of this?

has much i would enjoy, no, life orb sceptile still got problems with certain OU pokemons depending on the set its using, and its defense is average at best, being revenge killed quite easily by priority.

then again, this might change in B/W depending on the metagame, if there is real need for a fast mixed grass type then sceptile is sure to be used....has long the gen 5 grass starter dont become better.

Though it has some problems, I think there is a good chance that it will move to OU. But the new starter may outclass it.

It could happen. Yes, it is true that everyone misses the now-physical Leaf Blade, with 20 extra power. But Energy Ball has a base power of 80, better than Leaf Blade last generation, and who needs crits when you have Leaf Storm!? Some more offense-oriented players of last generation can replace now-physical Dragon Claw with Dragon Pulse, with 10 more power. Sceptile can now also use the inaccurate but still useful Focus Blast.

Nowadays, though, it seems a lot of OU pokes resist Grass or shrug it off with ease, and the only Grass-types the tier has time for are the annoying Breloom, the boring Celebi and the actually pretty cool Roserade. And, having said all that about Leaf Storm, it only nets a lot of OHKOs with Specs, and switching out afterward is a pain.

Nevertheless, we can all hope...
