Hello, and I would like to extend an invitation to all of you users who signed up as "Free Garchomp!" members. Currently, me and a few other members are working on a modded 4th generation Pokemon metagame where we attempt to balance all pokemon! And the focus point: Garchomp!
Now do not fret: those of you who knew how Garchomp played and how to play around him can relax. We have not nerfed him directly other than by removing his ability, Sand Veil, which we believe to be the final factor as to Garchomp's departure from OU. His Stats are the same, nothing removed from his movepool(for now), same typing: everything is exactly the same.
"What else do you have to offer?" What we offer is a generally less centralized metagame, based upon boosting the efficiency of weaker pokemon to that of Garchomp's level. But before we even BEGIN on that, we have decided to do something completely drastic to the game of pokemon: mixing up the type chart.
The change in the type chart directly affected Garchomp in one way negatively: he now has gained a weakness to Grass. While this may seem harsh, we assure you he plays exactly how he was before and the feeling of power behind using him won't escape you. It was a necessary change to boost the usage of Grass attacks, as well as to help decentralize the metagame from the infinite steel/ dragon chain we have going on.
What other changes are there? The most drastic one is probably Flying no longer being weak to rock: this ensures that there are NO 4x SR weaknesses anymore. Felt bad for that Articuno you trained up or that Vespiqueen you wanted to always try? Now is your chance!
Why do I post this? We are in drastic need of players to help test the newly designed type chart. So your job is pretty simple: sign onto our server on Pokemon Online(which has yet to be put up, probably gonna get going Wednesday), and have fun! Try to break anything and everything: we need a good idea at how the metagame will play out. Once we have an idea on how types play out(if some types aren't doing hot defensively/ offensively), then we change things and try again.
Once this is done we aim to start bringing up everything to the power of Garchomp, either through their movepool, stats, typing, ability: whatever is necessary! Another goal is to make every single move competitively viable! So come on and join Poke-minus: the game where Garchomp isn't broken because everything else is!
