Fire Red Omega is a Pokemon Fire Red hack which includes all 386 Pokemon, as well as different Gym Leaders and Elite Four rosters. Overall the game has much higher levels, a much greater variety in wild Pokemon, and harder in general.
Here's the video link for getting the ips patch and patching software etc
Now, the rules for the race-
1. Standard Nuzlocke rules- You may only catch the first Pokemon you see in a route. If you don't catch it, too bad, you don't get a catch from there route. You may skip the first encounter if that Pokemon is already in your Pokedex, i.e. if you have a Rattata, you may skip any first encounters that are Rattata, but may not skip Raticate. You may choose to catch the duplicate, but then you will not be able to catch any other Pokemon on that route. Surfing or fishing or rock smashing within an area counts as your catch for that area. Different floors in caves are NOT different routes. Different buildings in cities are NOT different areas.
2. If a Pokemon faints, you must release it. And no, if it "comes back", it simply means you have no other Pokemon that can learn a specific HM to advance- you may NOT use this Pokemon.
3. You may accept and use only ONE gift Pokemon. Now this game doesn't give you a choice when it comes to receiving gifts, so if you get one inadvertently, you will have to decide there and then whether you wish to keep it as your allowed gift or release it on the spot. If you choose to release it, you may carry on and catch your Pokemon from that route.
Game Corner Pokemon count as gift Pokemon too, btw.
4. You must nickname your Pokemon. If you fail to do so, you must wait till Lavender Town where you can give them a nickname before using the Pokemon.
5. You may use healing items in battle only.
6. Your Pokemon may hold items.
7. There is no restriction on what you can buy and how many times you may use a Pokecenter. Game Corner Pokemon are not considered to be "bought", so Rule 3 still applies.
8. The game is considered completed after beating the first wave of the Elite Four. (I may change this depending on popular demand).
9. You may not catch any legendary Pokemon, even if they happen to be your first encounter.
10. You may not deposit Pokemon in the daycare.
11. No trading of any kind. Not even ingame.
12. No hacking of any kind. No abusing glitches of any kind.
13. Please try and not boost your emulators, people! - well now since its ingame time go ahead i guess
14. You may not save, play on, then switch off. You must save directly before switching the game off each and every time. No undoing those mistakes. Saving includes save stats on emulators, and any other form of saving, not just normal ingame saving. You may occasionally back up your save in case your gameboy/ds turns off/power outage shuts off your computor, but these may not be whored to get out of an area without fighting something/keep everyone alive/whatever.
15. HAVE FUN - jk you will have a miserable time this shit is HARD.
I'll decide on the start date once enough people have joined, but I'd like to get this done in September, preferably on a Sunday (I have school on Saturday JOY)
People please tell me about any changes to the rules or any important rules I may have missed out.
The results will be decided by the ingame clock, since breaks completely screw you over if you go by real time. Obviously this will rely on people having the sportsmanship to not glitch the clock. This should come under point no 12 anyways.
