This is a Flygon lead I used once, and it is not in the analysis. Maybe it's because it special ^^.


Flygon @ choice specs/ timid/ levitate
252 Spe, 252 SAtk, 6 HP

- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- U-turn

--> STAB'd Draco Meteor with specs and max SAtk hurts. Any Salamence that tries to switch in against an Earthquake dies. Fire Blast is for Mamoswine leads (watch out for Ice Shard), Metagross, and Jirachi leads. Earth Power is for Heatran leads. U-turn against Azelf.

To be honest, why use SpecsGon if you can use SpecsMence or SpecsLatias? I don't see the point of the set. U-Turn is not enough to justify using Flygon for that.

Use Flygon with Band, Scarf or Roost+LO.

This is a unique moveset because people son't expect it. Latias nor Salamence can learn Earth Power btw.

Well, that is a "Creative movesets" group. Saying to use standard sets is pointless IMO.

I know. But you should explain why to use it over others. Now I know: Surprise factor. I didn't think of that before. Sorry. When you look at it like that, it is good. It is a very good set even when not looking at other Pokémon.

nobody expects specsmence either and dragon + fire + water gives perfect neutral coverage so earth power is not needed.

I do agree with that. Mence often means Mix or DD. It is nice, but for surprise Specs users, Salamence is good enough. However, SR and U-Turn are good things for Flygon. Both are good, but Salamence is better.
