How about a concept where you have 4 of your 6 pokemon out at one time in 2 rows of 2. The pokemon in the second rank can use non contact attacks on the first row of the opponent.
Obviously there would be a lot of tactical questions that would have to be answered.
-Do moves that effect all enemies effect all pokemo, or just those in adjacent rows?
-When you front row poke is knocked out, do you switch in to the front row or move up your second row poke and put your reserve in the second row? Or do you choose which to do?
-What is priority on switching? Can your frontline poke use extreme speed before switching with your second row poke?
