herein we discuss the merits of the /spawn and /home commands, and then vote to decide the fate of these powers on smogcraft.

Here is why:

Minecraft is not an action adventure game, it is a game about expressing creativity. In this server we should aspire to allow that to the fullest extent within a reasonable vanilla limit. Forcing players to sit out for 10 minutes because they are stuck somewhere or lost is a horrid idea. The warps will not remove the challenge out of minecraft for those that desire it. It will remove the frustration from trekking from you base back to spawn then back just to perform a trade or meet up with other players


Right now our server is quite small, but we all know it will expand. With the current borderguard that we use it must be a square. To ensure we stay together as a community spawn must be implemented. Our spawn as it is developing is now going to be more of a central hub for resources than ever before. We should want people to return to it and encourage it. I have heard the argument that having a home command will make people not want to build near spawn, but with our border as it is, people are building near it. There are reasons to want to be near spawn. We all had multiple homes and bases in smogcraft 1, this will be no different. With spawn you can always return to that without problem.
