Alright guys, this thing is going to be horrific in UU....with Roserade gone, Rhyperior will wreak even more havoc. The number one UU wall, Registeel, cant stand up to its assaults, and a Rock Polish set can completely demolish almost any team. Discuss its potential in UU, and the impact it you think it will have on the metagame. Go! =)

252/252+ Milotic fares ok. While it can't take two LO-boosted hits from the RP set, it can switch in on the RP. Looks like Milotic usage will go up, now that one of its best counters is gone.

Weezing also does ok, although CB sets that run speed can 2hko it, albeit with the risky Stone Edge. It also cannot take two hits from the RP set, but it can switch on the RP.

And...that's pretty much everything in the tier that can both avoid the 2hko or outspeed and ohko back. There are certain pokemon that can avoid the 2hko, but they can do little back.

Rhyperior has so many solid checks/counters that it's not even funny. Now that Quagsire has Recover it can switch in on Stone Edges all day and threaten back with a Waterfall. Azumarill can hit it with Waterfall / Aqua Jet for massive damage. Milotic can do the same with ease, and Jolly Rhyperior can't even outspeed Milotic with max+ speed.

There's also all sorts of stuff that can beat him. I'm not worried about Rhyperior in the least outside of maybe something involving Hippopotas.

Rhyperior gets handled by Tangrowth as well, unless that beast is carrying Megahorn. Azumarril and Quagsire work too.

Rhyperior has enough toys to use against his checks, but can still be handled. Most bulky waters threaten a quick kill/scare him off.

Donphan and Dugtrio are not counters, but they can but used against him as well.

Glacion and Leafeon are viable options against any non-RP set.
EDIT:Hariyama can probably beat him to as long as he isn't SD or CB sets,but I'd need damage calcs to know.

CB Adamant Rhyperior can 2hko Max HP/Def Quagsire all the times with EQ, besides that, It's true that CB won't probably be the most common set... anyway I won't be so careless to rhyperior's power... Max Defence/HP + Nature milotic risk the 2hko from Jolly LO EQ...
True: Milotic is faster, and if marvel scales activates its obviouly almost impossible to take it down, while guagsire can takes stone edges all the times, but... won't you pair Rhyperior with a ludicolo/gravity user/trick roomer, sub/agility passer?
Probably the real curse of the big rhydon are aqua jet users...

Personally, I feel that Rhyperior has enough going for it to make it a top 10 UU, but not enough to push it over the (Border)line. Milotic, as usual, comes to ruin its fun, while Quagsire, Torterra, Azumarill, etc. all as act as solid checks. Then there's always Grass Knot Pikachu, if all else fails :)

Torterra is probably the best possible counter, and might see a boost in usage just because of that. It can even set up on Rhyperior.

I doubt Torterra will do much against offensive Rhyperior. Megahorn is a 2HKO with SR damage factored against 212 / 252 Impish Torterra from Swords Dance, Choice band, and Rock Polish Rhyperior.

Rhyperiors best counter is Rhyperior himself. ^^
