I lost many friends on my adventure through Pearl version. The list includes Rocky the Geodude and Zirark the Skorupi, amongst others. We have fought hard battles, against Gym Leaders, trainers and Team Galactic. However, despite how hard we fought, the cold hands of death wrapped their fingers around some of my Pokemon. I felt pain that I believed I could never feel in a Pokemon game. While many souls have perished on my journey, four of them were very close to me. We fought against the odds and made it farther than any other of my Nuzlocke attempts before. They fought with spirit that I could never have seen before in a Pokemon game. They had personalities that I believe my own imagination gave them, which makes it even harder to deal with the pain of their death. Now, fellow adventurers, I honor those four who have fought hard through the game and shined brighter than any star in the sky. Let out tears fall as we mourn.

Tiana the Gyarados
I met Tiana as a level 17 Magikarp. With her Brave nature, I knew she would be strong enough to take down the toughest opponents. She was feisty and boisterous, always looking for a fight. I gave her the EXP. Share so she could train without having to battle, since Magikarp are terrible at battling. When she evolved, I taught her Thunder and Blizzard. She fought hard, and was able to beat Maylene's Lucario and Crasher Wake all by herself. However, she was killed by the worst thing of all: her own power. A Galactic Grunt's Croagunk used Swagger on her, and she beat herself into submission. She was laid to rest in the sea, where she came from. Rest in piece, friend.

Defense the Bastiodon
People on #nuzlocke jeered us. They thought Defense would be too weak. But boy did he prove them wrong. With Metal Sound, his extraordinary bulk and Shock Wave, he was a monster as a Shieldon. He could take down Gyarados all by himself! When he learned Fire Blast and AncientPower, he became even stronger. It seemed like nothing could stop him. He was proud of his defense, which was fantastic. When he evolved into Bastiodon, it even got better. It was like he was almost impenetrable. He continued to destroy everything in his path. However, a Gengar in Fantina's Gym would soon seal his doom. He used Mean Look while Defense used Metal Sound. Then he used Confuse Ray, causing me to hit myself. Then... he used Curse. I gasped in horror as Defense's HP slowly drained. I had to keep using Super Potions. But Gengar kept using Shadow Ball, and got lucky with Special Defense drops. I watched as the curse did in Defense. A death from Curse is a terrible thing. The soul is forever cursed, meaning my poor Bastiodon will never rest in peace. However, in that same battle, Nimbus the Staravia evolved into Staraptor, almost as if to help me through the challenges. I hope that one day the curse will be lifted, my old friend.

Clunker the Bronzor
Shortly after Defense's death, I met Clunker. With his Naive nature, I knew he wouldn't be using Gyro Ball. But that didn't stop him. After much training to raise him to a strong level, he helped defeat Fantina's dreaded Gengar. However, on Iron Island, a place he seemed to love from the start, something terrible happened. We were fighting a Graveler. The stony Pokemon gave an evil grin, and used SelfDestruct. Despite his Heatproof, I saw my precious Clunker melt from the heat of the blast. I looked at the half melted Bronzor, and buried him amongst the iron of the island he loved. Rest in peace, my dear dish plate.

Acheron the Torterra
Nothing could compare to the pain of losing Acheron. I got the Serious Turtwig as my first Pokemon on this adventure. Nothing can describe the pain I feel now. We fought some of the toughest trainers in the land. We fought Roark, we fought Mars, we fought Hikers and Campers a plenty. He had been one of the coolest Pokemon I've ever used. We were closer than any other Pokemon and Trainer could be. In my imagination, we were like brothers. While we were training and mouring over Clunker, we got in a fight with a Hiker. He used a Zubat, who he dispatched quickly. However, the Golbat was much worse. First, he used the dreaded Confuse Ray. Torterra managed to hit though it though, like he always had. But the Golbat wasn't dead. Then, the Golbat used Air Cutter. I watched with at first little fear, but it grew into horror as my Torterra's HP dropped slowly to zero. A critical hit. Bloody and wounded from the blades of wind, he fell to the ground and died. Nimbus watched in pain as his oldest friend died. In a fit of fury, Nimbus brutally killed the Golbat. But the damage couldn't be taken away. The tough Torterra was dead. We cried and mourned over the loss of what was almost my brother. Nimbus and Offense beat the shit out of the Hiker, and Smokey helped me mourn over the loss. Pokemon brother, may you rest in eternal peace...
