Would you prefer living in an age without heating, plumbing, medicine, or useful transportation? Look back to the 1800's, it really wasnt all that fun then. Ppl died of disease left and right, ppl died in even more droves from traveling hundreds of miles on horseback. Wars were fought because communications were so slow (look at the Battle of New Orleans in the Civil War. The war was over, but because of bad communications that battle happened and another-- I wanna say 2,000-- died)

*eyebrow raises* Dont you online school? Isnt technology a friend in that way? And what about all the other uses it has, like helping in medicine, building better modes of transportation, or helping with communications. Granted some of the frivilous stuff is ridiculous, but still here we are, hundreds of miles apart, and talking. It's all thanks to technology
