Hey SDS. I noticed that you omitted Gardevoir from the list of rejected 'mons for OU analyses, so I wrote up the article. Could you check it for QC? I've tried to identify Gardevoir's niches, and I've also tried to identify where Gardevoir is plain outclassed by other Psychics. So this isn't one of those "FAVE POKEMON RULEZ" threads :P Thanks in advance.
Being Roobushin bait is the premise of one of Clefable's sets that I have written. Holding a Focus Sash, Clefable lures out Roobushin, takes his STAB-Fighting attack, and Counters back. Bye-Bye, Roobushin. Then, while running a Jolly-Clefable to get as much speed as possible, bring Clefable back in on something slower (without priority) and Softboiled the damage away. The last moveslot can be used for Encore to help counter, or a plethora of other options from its movepool.
It's versatility also help it keep its niche over Rankurusu, who lacks many of the options that Clefable can easily make use of.
I understand that Clefable would be lower-rung OU if allowed, but it still has unexpected viability there.
So, should I even bother finishing up my 5th-Gen Clefable Analysis right now, or just wait until an UU thread is opened up?
I firmly believe it can compete in OU, and have evidence backing it up. I just don't want to spend all of the time necessary to finish this up, only to have it locked for an undetermined amount of time.
will, you are one of those painfully sad wannabe Japanese. Just a tip, that sentence under your name is extremely feminine, so if you're a guy and you said that, people would think you're either gay, or had absolutely no idea what you're talking about regarding the language. My * guess is the former.*
Yeah, yeah, I know I need to get my ass on IRC, it's just that about all the time that I spend on Smogon is all the time that I have to spend. I don't know if I have enough time to delve into IRC right now; I probably will during Christmas break though.
