I'm sick of having a 4th WR that only blocks though
aside from roddy/jj/hd the rest of our WR stats were drew davis with 4 catches for 40 yards and everyone else with nothing. I'm not sure kerry meier even exists.
I haven't paid too much attention to the draft class, but the tight ends this year sure do look impressive. I don't think we should draft one in the first two rounds, even if TG stays retired, but there were some good looking dudes out there today (no homo).
funny enough Jordan Reed reminds me of an Aaron Hernandez clone
I really feel like Danny Woodhead would be a cheap Spiller/Sproles type guy that would fill the same role perfectly. I think he's underrated and underused in NE.
a team source confirmed the report that said it was likely so that's good enough for me
If Gonzalez leaves, I really think a Harvin/Welker type WR will be the thing that makes this offense unstoppable. I'd love a guy like Spiller that can outrun everyone and run routes out of the backfield or as a WR... but we have way too many holes to fill on defense. If we cut Dunta we'll need another CB, we need another linebacker, we need a DE that can actually rush the passer, and we need another DT that isn't just mediocre. A guy like Austin would certainly be an exciting choice, but i'm not sure he'd be the guy that improves the team the most.
I just don't want to see us turn into the 'Aints, having an unstoppable offense that can't run the ball to control the clock and a defense that just gets gashed every game.
I feel happy for turner being cut, but sad for feeling happy. also sad for not feeling sad about him leaving in the first place :c
I can see dunta being cut too but I'm shocked anyone thinks we'll cut babs/abe, especially if gonzo comes back. not unless we had a bunch of miracle FA signings for cheap or something.
Chiefs, Jags, Raiders could all draft Geno... so could the Cards, Bills, Jets, Rams (doubtful because Bradford makes so much money), or Vikings. Anyone could pick him as a backup, Aaron Rodgers style (though Rodgers was >> Geno at this point). Granted, if he makes it past the Jets at #9 there's a good chance he would slide really far... but I figure someone will indeed try and trade back in the first round if he does so. Who knows, maybe it would be with us.
New coaches love new quarterbacks, though, because it prevents them from being fired after 1 or 2 years.
Bush is too expensive. I'd rather keep what we have (sans Turner) than sign him.
How about Danny Woodhead from NE? Way faster than Jacquizz, he'd see the 3rd down work while Quizz/Snelling took care of regular running and short yardage opportunities respectively. Hell, we could get Felix Jones to do the same work Bush can pull for a tiny fraction of the cost.
I forget if I asked you before, would you want Teo if he fell to us at the end of the 1st round? Even with his disappearing act in the championship (against a real team) he's still a pretty good player. I don't think the imaginary girlfriend thing would be too big of a detriment if you ask me.
