M-14 is a semi-auto rifle; pretty powerful, dang accurate too. It's a good idea, since it can be used to snipe or as a battle rifle. But hey, it's your military career.

Oh, well still, shouldn't be too bad, right? And since you have to be a certified marksman with at least one weapon, do you know what you will use? Most tech guys use a handgun of some sort, but you should go extreme, and snipe with an RPG or something.
