Well, of course, that's what I meant. The 3 analysis minimum is by no way a guarantee into the program; it took me at least a month and a half after I sent my application in of constant checking and conversing with jelli before I got accepted. But after that things got much more lenient.
It's not a problem. As for some tips about getting on the team, don't even believe the 3-analysis thing listed in the thread, it's outdated. Instead, apply what I've just told you in a couple new checks, then pm all the leaders. Jellicent is usually the best at handling new users, so if you show him a few really good checks he can tell you where you need to go from there. Irc/vms are best for contacting him outside of the official application you send. However, even after ou talk with him, you're going to need to keep going at a nice pace. Not too many checks at once, though, because they want people who will stay with the team and not burn out
Just a few points for GPing, they're standard stuff you can ctrl+F for after you've finished an analysis.
1. Don't use "who", as it makes pokemon personal instead of neutral gender. Use "which" or "that"
2. Never use "since", as it refers to time, such as "it has been two months since this happened'. Use "as" or "because" for situations like "since as alakazam has a high special attack..."
3. Like --> such as, but you probably knew this already
4. Make sure all "hazards" are called "entry hazards"
Most importantly: when you check something, post a placeholder and then use the edit function to insert the check. It stops people sniping it.
Also when you replace words, don't remove half of the word in red and add the rest in green. It makes it hard to read. "the hardean" Is really annoying, do something like "the hardestthan".
when you use diff, don't c/p from the shown preview of the text. instead, scroll down to the text box under the heading BBCode: and paste that into your forum post, as this will avoid having those pesky little ¶ marks.
For everyone reading this, school's starting for me soon, so my activity's going to be sparse for a while.
To my homies on here, that's probably going to be why you aren't seeing me much.
As a final note, i have a lot of odd visitors to this page. If you're going to visit, don't hesitate to say hey, or maybe ridicule me for my ridiculous love of SpD pokemon (The ones i've pimped out are, sadly to say, only the beginning.)
Right now, as an amchecker, all you can do is check things but not stamp. Full GP members can check and stamp, as well as check over amchecks.
A few things to note:
- Only check things that need checked (i.e. things typed up and that are in the (Copyediting) stage.
- Amcheckers cannot stamp things, but feel free to check whatever you want (only if the OP has implemented a previous check / asks for a check in the GP Queue.)
- Don't check something if the OP hasn't implemented a check above yours (if any)
I'm not able to fully reply now, but hanging out in #grammar on SynIRC is a good place to ask GP members any questions you have. They either have a @ symbol or a star, depending on what client you use.
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask! Also, I will link you to all the things you'll need to know for the GP team when I get on a computer.
ezfsxdgrcfgvh:that looks like ezfsxdgrcfgvh:the most annoying fucking team ezfsxdgrcfgvh:i've ever seen ezfsxdgrcfgvh:and i'm not playing through this shit ezfsxdgrcfgvh forfeited.
