there's one piece of homebrew that can, but it seems to be unreliable. the nds adaptor+ is the way to go. i got mine from renchi.

pokesav is a japanese program with english text inserted over it. there's no unicode support, i don't think. thus, weird trainer nick and pokemon nick problems. codr has unicode added and a full character map available in pokegen, so you won't have those issues.

it seemed fine to me and opened fine in both pokesav and pokegen. pokesav doesn't verify the save at all, but pokegen does and it still opened fine.

if pokegen can't verify the save, it will reject it as not a real save file. occasionally it's just a bad checksum and there's an option to ignore checksums in pokegen. ignore the checksum, open the save, and re-save to fix the checksum.

i wondered that same thing...

i got one from someone else that was 1024kb instead of 512kb. the latter half was empty, of course. it's probably a flash cart that just saves as 1MB files by default.
