It was a nice attempt, but sadly fell woefully short of its target and spun out of control. Largely fuelled by my awful day, which made me extremely cynical to everything. I appreciate the concern guy, but I don't think i'll be trying to make a concerted effort to make a forum better. Why bother? Like I mentioned earlier if I wanted to talk about serious shit i'd stick to neogaf.
I guess I came across the wrong way. Forgive me if this sounds arrogant and pretentious, but the way I write/talk has more to do with my age. Being an older user and someone who spends all day writing professional emails, my language tends to keep with that standard rather than trying to change how I speak to fit the mold of the forum. I wasn't trying to create "draconian rules" or be overly authoritative, I just remember how badly the previous "Pretty Girls" thread degenerated, and I wanted to avoid that this time so the thread would survive. I don't mind funny or off-topic posts in a general sense, but I wanted to avoid them at least at the very beginning of the thread so it would have a chance to get on track instead of derail immediately. I'll change the wording of the rules to make it sound less overbearing, if you think that will help. I hope you weren't offended by anything I said or my editing of your post. I assure you my motives are only to keep the thread on track, not to be an asshole or powertrip.
