Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Kudos to the council. I wasn't sure we'd ever see the day where the sleep clause mod got the boot. A broken status condition should get banned; we shouldn't mod the game to accommodate it. Glad to see the council take a firm stance on this especially after some members of the community simply...
In fairness, I said these shifts were partially due to Spikes. The rest of this post is just ridiculous. I was just pointing out that Spikes have been overcentralizing before. None of the other claims you are going after in your post are even claims that I've made. Gen 3 (with TSS strategy) saw...
I do think that Gholdengo + Gliscor should probably be the first resort in terms of tackling this issue, but this is hardly the first time Spikes has proven overcentralizing. Gens 3 & 5 (as past gens) saw a ton of former OU staples nearly or entirely invalidated due partially to uptick in...
I'll take it to policy review when I get the chance. But no, I haven't rephrased anything you've said. I get that the mod was implemented with the knowledge that it was a mod; that's not the point. My argument is that it was the wrong decision to mod the simulator, irrespective of its...
You can't say "Whether it's on cart or not is irrelevant" and "Smogon's tiering policy states that the goal is to remain as close to cart as possible"; those are two statements that are factually incompatible with each other. You haven't refuted this - there is no "minimum number" established...
I don't have any issue with banning QC or similar items, but I would hardly call the Sleep/Freeze mods settled discourse. They are a sticking point for many people, myself included. I really hope they are seriously revisited. That being said, I don't have an issue with banning elements that...
With all due respect, what is the point here? Flutter Mane and Naganadel are/were both hilariously broken. Pheromosa and Iron Bundle are/were widely considered unmanageable. Roaring Moon, Iron Valiant and Kartana are/were top tier threats that could potentially be considered broken. You are...
You're more than welcome to "have fun". If it matters to you so little where you can't take 2 minutes to voice your opinion in a constructive way, then you have no business droning on about the decision that was made. This is totally baseless and out of pocket.
Welcome to Gen 5. In all seriousness, I think some of this will fizzle out over time. It's pretty much expected at this point for new or radically updated tiers to have overcentralizing playstyles. I have a hard time seeing things leveling out with Ninetales-A in the tier though tbh.
I don't see the need to waste time with introducing Darkrai to the tier. Dragapult isn't a good comparator, but the hilariously broken Flutter Mane is. Darkrai only needed Dark Void to function in Ubers. It can generate plenty of free turns without sleep in OU with its offensive toolkit and...
I think adding the D tier was helpful because it includes Pokemon that have a niche but just aren't worth using in the vast majority of scenarios. They can put in a lot of work against an unprepared team but are either very inconsistent or generally outclassed. D tier was actually only utilized...
Imo the issue is and always has been hazards. It got so much worse in Gen 4 obviously. I'm not saying I think any of them should be banned necessarily, but adding boots provided significant counterplay that was just not present in previous generations. I think the only reason boots could seem...
