  1. Flygon and Shuckle save the day!(an OU Warstory)

Flygon is so cool :) No. Kingdra.
  2. Ambipom Saves The Day!

Very meh battle made worse by terrible commenting (really... "hooray"?)
  3. Common Moves

I'm actually surprised SR isn't used more. Assuming only one pokemon per team carries it, the move will be on 1/6 of all movesets if every team had stealth rock. That's 16,66(and so on)% if you didn't know, which is quite a lot more than ~10%. By those numbers, about 3/5 teams have SR. More...
  4. My Very First Sandstorm Team

Next time don't rush it and be more thorough before expecting us to spend time on your team.
  5. Did Platinum improve this game?

I think we should let the hype die down before drawing any conclusions. The perceived centralisation caused by Platinum may very well just be a phase, rather than the metagame going down the gutter (depending on who you ask) indefinitely.
  6. "What can it do that SDLuke can't?"

See the smurf on Kingdra's face? Yeah, that blue thing is laughing at your feeble attempt at dealing damage with HP ice. HP ice will deal more damage to the other dragons though...
  7. Ho-oh – Is it truly an Uber?

Excellent post Jetx. I've never given much thought to Ho-oh's placement, but you make a strong argument for trying it in OU, imo. Fire/Flying isn't a very good defensive typing and though Ho-oh's defences are most impressive, it's not going to outclass Blissey anytime soon. A max/max+ Ho-oh...
  8. Smogon Shoddy Server Statistics - September 2008

I know nothing about Ubers, but surprising that Mew became the biggest loser, considering all the new toys Platinum gave it. We'll see next month though...
  9. Meet Gamefreaks ugliest invention...

Hariyama is very reliable. Using one myself with force palm/ice punch/knock off/whirlwind. It is the counter the Tyranitar counter, laughing at his STABs, shrugging off even CB earthquakes and not caring much about the odd fire blast/ice beam thanks to thick fat. Depending on the moveset you...
  10. Warning! UU is invading OU!

If Bronzong is tricked while setting up SR/screens, then it will struggle if taunted regardless of what attacking moves it might have...
  11. Warstory: Super Hax to the Rescue...?

Uhm... Tentacruel has base speed 100. Arcanine 95. By all means, rip the team and battle apart, but at least do it right. :nerd:
  12. Skymin Discussion Thread

@Lemmiwinks MkII As I said, it looks good on paper. I'm not saying Skymin isn't dangerous - it can deal a lot of damage if you're not prepared for it and those carrying HP Ice have given me problems - but I currently don't think it's even close to living up to the hype.
  13. Skymin Discussion Thread

Actually, I disagree. In my experience, the Skymins that work are the Skymins that rely on brute force, sporting HP Ice and Earth Power to deal with likely switch-ins like Heatran and Dragonite. Subseed may look good on paper, but it simply doesn't work that well. Skymin isn't much more...
  14. Skymin Discussion Thread

I haven't played a lot lately, but from what little I've seen, skymin is not that threatening. It is nowhere close to the dominance of chomp. On average I've lost less than one pokemon for each skymin encountered, and considering dragonite is the only thing on my current team that can reliably...
  15. Team Matrix

Sure, keep salamence, but saying it is stronger is... well, wrong. Mence's Outrage and Earthquake are only marginally better, whereas Nite has Fire Punch (10 bp more than Fire Fang) to play around with. DDmence has two advantages over DDnite. 1. Intimidate sometimes makes set-up easier 2...
