Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Yeah, now that I'm a bit more awake and coherent I do have some questions about what the tournament rules are...
Is this going to be done over Battle Revolution? Like, teams at set level 50/100 or over DS?
No legendaries are allowed, but is this going to be a mostly OU tournament with some...
I've got...issues...with ARing anything, so no using ARs for me. My friend does have a spare Pearl that we're currently using for TM-digging (used game, came pre-hacked with x99 of everything), so I could use that for storage... I just never really like restarting any game I've worked in...
Dude, no. Just...no. I've logged over 270 hours on Diamond, nevermind all of the EVing I have done for tournies and BT. I just have a couple of Legendaries with good IVs, but bad Natures and I was wondering if it was worth it to try and use them anyway or not. Restarting is right out.
What do you guys do about potentially good IV'd Legends (that have already been caught/Saved so no more SRing potential) that have sucky Natures? E.g., Mesprit, Brave (+Atk, -Spd), 29/12/25/19/25/29
Trade fodder, useable, GTS and hope for something better? I hate that I figured out IVs after...
Sadly I'm still a newcomer to the competitive D/P battling/breeding thing, so I'm afraid none of my offers would be enough for a "fair" trade, :/ I know everyone has to start somewhere, but I still feel bad for trading for stuff people have obviously worked hard for for my newbish breeding...
Charizard all. the. way.
I haven't gotten a good battling 'zard yet (stupid IVs, >.<), but all of my in-game 'zards have been nothing but awesome. I also generally like the Fire Starters over the other lines, although Meganium and Sceptile were awesome for me in their respective games....
My online friends and I usually hold no-holds barred battles. We've known each other since Pokémon first released, so our rules are pretty much whatever went in R/B/Y applies to D/P and we'll hash out anything later if it gives us a problem.
Onix, Vespiquen, Marowak, Lopunny, Houndoom, Purugly are some I've got trained (unsure of actual tier standings) and I've got a Snubble and Remoraid waiting for EV training.
Actually Bulbapedia has the math formula to figure out Wurmple's evolution.
The only thing is, it's so bloody complicated, I think most people just say "Oh, it's evolves randomly" because...well, see for yourself:

I suck at math, so...
Don't forget Foresight and Miracle Eye.
((This also sums up my arguments about the Evasion Clause as well. I find it stupid to have a clause about a move that has multiple counters, but that allows three moves [Spikes, SR, TS] that only have one.))
Actually the Freeze clause was implemented back when Red/Blue first got released over here because back then, iirc, Freeze was actually permanent, so there was a very real danger of your opponent just Freezing your entire team and you loosing due to that.
I do this now, even with cloning availablity, :P
I dunno, I guess I've always seen Pokémon to be very individualistic, so it weirds me out that (say I cloned something) someone else would have my *exact* Pokémon, stats and all (although I do acknowledge movesets can be changed easily). I think...
*facepalm* Okay, wow. Let's break this down:
X-Box :: Wailord (Hueg liek) - Wailords are VERY LARGE Pokémon. Back when X-Box first released, there were all sorts of jokes floating around the Internet of "HUGE LIKE X-BOX SALE" and whatnot. Wailord + HUGE = X-box.
Cornbread :: Whiscash - This...
