Lookin g00d, Smogon. Some call me Nathan, though I usually go by LoveGame here in the Pokemon community. I've been playing Pokemon since R/B released, and I've been into competitive battling since 2009, when Platinum released.

I guess you could say I'm somewhere in between a n00b and a professional. I know the ins and outs of competitive play rather well, but I am one of the few 'serious' competitive players who uses their favorite Pokemon rather than the usual Talonflames, Rotom-Washes, and Garchomps you typically see flooding every other battle video. With a bit of skill and a lot of luck, I've managed to successfully run forgotten and seldom-used Pokemon such as Sandslash, Primeape, and my all-time favorite, Mantine, even in OU environments.
I started off mostly battling randoms I met through YouTube during the heyday of DPPt with a decent amount of success, and I did participate in and win one fan-organized online tournament in May '09. I continued to play regularly into the release of HGSS, battling randoms and friends alike.
I fell out of the competitive scene after the first half of '10, and attempted to get back into it with the release of BW, but I didn't like the way the online worked (no option to set your team to lvl 100) so I remained inactive through the majority of 5th gen. I felt that BW2 improved upon its predecessor infinitely, but I still wasn't motivated to get back into competitive until XY came out.
To me, these games have that same fun, easily-accessible feel to them that 4th gen did, and being able to port over my old 4th gen team members with Pokebank gave me even more motivation. Now I'm back and as active as ever, ready to represent underrated Pokemon everywhere! Haha.
I'm overall a pretty chill and agreeable guy, so I never get too serious about winning or losing, and will happily battle anyone who asks. I love interacting with the community in any way possible, whether it be to talk strategy and teambuilding, the games and the storyline, or even non-Pokemon things. Lastly, I upload XY Wifi battle videos over on my YouTube channel, Petey1Piranha.
Other than that, I'm an aspiring writer/director, and I've had a huge crush on Lady Gaga since I was sixteen, hence my username. I'm also a huge fan of Halo, Dragon Ball, Star Wars, BioShock, Legacy of Kain, and various rap and hip-hop music.
My "main" team as of now, though I have 20+ competitively-trained Pokemon to switch things up with. If you don't prefer batting on your actual game or don't have a team ready, my handle on Pokemon Showdown is LoveGame. Feel free to battle me there!
