The only significant pokemon at base 85 that I can see are heracross and pinsir but hera is usually scarfed and pinsir will usually be mega-evolving.

So is there any reason to run this over sylveon besides the higher speed, considering sylveon has better hp which gives it better wishes, better physical bulk, and comparable special bulk, and has stronger Stab thanks to the boost from pixilate?

I highly doubt it. Pokemon like gengar and heracross cannot still evolve, they can only mega-evolve, which is an entirely different process. Also, I don't think gamefreak wouldn't be dumb enough to give us eviolite tyranitar or garchomp.

Just throwing in my 2cents, I think alakazam can go into the original is better category, modest mega zam has a fraction more speed and power than timid life orb zam (like 2%) but gives up focus sash+magic gaurd. I also don't think mega pinsir belongs in the same category as charizard and...

Rapid Spinning is tough, even more so now that aegislash can stop foretress and the grass/ghost can stop starmie (hopefully, depending on how well it takes ice beam) and mega gengar can switch in on rapid spin and trap the spinner

No more STAB hustle E-speed 0/10 On a more serious note, I'd consider baton pass on the defensive nasty plot set, not many things can baton pass nasty plot (especially since we can't get celebi atm), and one of the best counters for its defensive set, aegislash, won't handle a +2 heatran well.

It doesn't take a turn to mega-evolve, you can still attack on the turn you mega-evolve.

I don't see it getting any use at all honestly, u-turn is such a great move, and if you want a move you can stay in and use I'd stick with bug bite, which is 60BP before technician and STAB. It isnt as strong on the 2nd use but bug has so many resists (fairy!) that I don't think scizor will be...
