  1. Zoroark

One thing to keep in mind though, is that the 2011 VGCs are only allowing B/W Pokemon. Which this is an extremely selective format, a metagame where you only use B/W 'mon might change the way Zoroark sees use. And honestly, Team Preview doesn't bug me that much. Sure, they know Zoroark is on...
  2. Gavantula

I could see Denchura getting some usage at the VGCs with the Isshu-only rule due to a massive (and about damn time too!) lack of SR. Energy Ball to check Doryu and 90% acc Thunder...perhaps HP: Fire to round out his attack options?
  3. VGC 2011 rules up!

Lol, are you kidding? You've got tons of options. Also no Stealth Rock shenanigans for the most part. I'm seriously liking this new metagame. Team Preview too. Finally something fresh and non-centralized.
  4. Iwaparesu

Except of course for Porygon-Z Hyper Beam, right? :B
  5. Wonder Launcher

I think this is an interesting mechanic. It will probably be a royal pain in the ass to program in, but it's still something new to add, a fresh type of metagame, like triple battles and rotation. It might not be standard, sure. I can't see a reason not to include it, assuming it can be...
  6. Pokémon Black and White - Ingame Discussion

Are we absolutely certain there's no longer a Vs. Seeker? I was told by someone who imported there IS still a Vs. Seeker given in-game, but I couldn't get any secondary confirmation. Honestly, if they've removed the Vs. Seeker I will be pissed, it was one of best things they introduced back in...
  7. R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

Again, I concur. I believe that GF implimented this feature because of the fact that this is the standard setting used in their official tourneys and on PBR, which is also considered standard fare. They're not doing this for us, this is for the rest of the demographic this game is targeting...
  8. Pokémon Black and White - Ingame Discussion

^I believe that requires the season to be Winter. Also: Any confirmation/denial on the presence of a Vs. Seeker?
  9. Zoroark

Doesn't Night Burst's secondary effect lower the opponent's accuracy?
  10. R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

Well, I never state that guessing and prediction are the same thing, as the former operates on no information, while the latter runs off having information. I never just fired off random attacks, but you're blindly guessing at what your opponent has or what they'll do, based on what you think...
  11. Emboar

Yeah, I could see using Emboar as clean-up rather than a main sweeper, since even with CS he's not moving terribly fast anyway. Nitro Charge gives him a decent move to pick off weakened opponents, and the speed boosts will help him clean up other trash. The Cheer Up thing is nice too...
  12. Pokémon Black and White - Ingame Discussion

Is there a Vs. Seeker in-game? o.O I hear the post-game level boosts are ridiculous (60s-70s) so I'm sure there's a way to grind easily, right?
  13. R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

...Guessing is not a skill. You can't improve your ability to guess with practice. Either you're right or you're wrong. And it's still mindgames, no matter how you slice it. It's the "Do you know that I know that you know" games. And those games don't change. I dunno why people consider...
  14. Zoroark

As I mentioned in the "R.I.P Scouts" thread, I feel that even with teams revealed Zoroark adds a second level of mindgames to any 6v6. Why? The fact that your opponent SEES Zoroark actually works to your advantage. Anytime your opponent goes to make a prediction or attack, they have to think...
  15. R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

I concur. As it stood already the "prediction" that takes place is little more than barely educated guesswork as is, which relies solely on your ability to recollect what counters what, and then guess (NOT predict) whether your opponent acts in the proper manner. As the pool of usable...
