  1. Hyper-Offense Quasi-Rain Team

I'll try out Tornadus, but Thunderus's role isn't to just spam Thunders. It has "perfect" coverage with its four moves allowing it to lure in many threats and hit them for SE dmg.
  2. Hyper-Offense Quasi-Rain Team

Intro: This team had its beginnings when I was trying to make an OU team with only Gen I and Gen II pokemon. I soon realized a rain team would be the best way to make it viable in today's meta-game. However, I couldn't resist putting in Thunderus and thus the team is in its current form...
  3. Dragonite

I tend to agree that DDnite is becoming a lot less viable. Ironically, Scarfchomp actually helped it set up since it couldn't OHKO with outrage and if it switched in, you could pretty much guarantee 2 DDs. Now with scarfers being faster than Chomp such as Landlos, Terrakion, and Latios, its hard...
  4. Dragonite (Analysis)

I haven't seen a lot of Flygons, but I have seen more Scarfed Terrakions recently that can revenge DDNite pretty well if multi is intact. I think that is far more dangerous than Mienshao for now...
  5. Dragonite (Analysis)

Apologies for the double post, but the current trend of Dragon Teams (a few dragons + Magnezone) is trolling almost all the offensive DNite sets, particularly the DD sets and Choice Band. Most of the dragons on those teams such as Haxerous, Latios, and Hydreigon are faster than Dnite and can...
  6. Dragonite (Analysis)

I see. A little disappointing, but I think it's still a better option than Brick Break as it is listed now for the Rain Tank.
  7. Dragonite (Analysis)

I just noticed that this guy gets Focus Blast among his insane move-pool. Couldn't this be used in the rain sets to kill off a rain team's two biggest nemesis, Ferrothorn and Tyranitar? I'm too busy to run some calculations, but I wonder how much max SpA or Specs FBlast would do to them?
  8. It's not a weather team? WTF! (Peaked 1250)

I think you are correct to switch EQ for Waterfall on Dnite since the latter covers everything that Fire Punch doesn't already handle in terms of coverage. Moreover, it allows you to hit Excadrill and Heatran even if they have balloons which could be the difference between life and death...
  9. Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer - Read FAQ in First Post Before Asking

Can anyone think of any Gen I or Gen II Pokemon that counters bulky waters that would also work in today's meta? I've been trying to build a retro team (for current standard OU) and have had some success with Nasty Plot Celebi, but it fails to rain teams with Thunderous and such... Thanks for...
  10. Dragonite (Analysis)

That's because Dragonite is such a versatile beast that most random sets will work at least moderately well. We're here to find the most optimal sets that will work the best.
  11. Dragonite

Agree with most of your post, but just wanted to point out that I was talking about the offensive DDNite, so 252 Atk and 252 Spe. This set is truly unstopable without priority after 2 DDs. I too dislike the bulky set which I think is too weak.
  12. Dragonite

I think this is a pretty good summary of the situation. For the 2 DD theory to work, a few things need to happen: 1. No rocks on the field (& no sandstorm preferable). Multiscale has to be intact upon entry. 2. Opponent KOs one of your Pokemon. You cannot switch into attack or else it breaks...
  13. Dragonite

Yes the first DD is easy, but as I keep saying, the key to offensive DDNite is its ability to get the second DD easily as well. You just have to come in on a clean field (no stealth rocks) after a teammate KO. DD on the turn they switch out (to a counter), survive the counterattack hit with...
  14. Dragonite (Analysis)

Having used nothing but Offensive DD on Dnite in a while, I can say that it's primary advantage is the ability to (easily) get two DDs with no defense investment. As I wrote on the Dnite post on the main forum, Multi-scale is different than Intimidate (from Salamence, Offense DD's greatest...
  15. Dragonite

I've actually been using an balanced aggressive late-game sweeping set with extremely good results: Dragonite @ Life Orb/Lum Berry/Leftovers 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant, Multi-scale - Dragon Claw - Fire Punch - Roost/Earthquake/Outrage - Dragon Dance If the field is set (no stealth rock...
