  • Fair enough, I do similarly since trolling people with a monoteam is epic, and nobody plays the dedicated monotype tiers. I've not had too much battling time recently either to be honest, been busy this holiday and have written much on smogon, but my Sun team seems to be gradually improving.

Aye, picking a lead is problematic.. I'd like to use Infernape for Fake Out and SR, but his utility with Priority and NP sweeping is also too good to pass up. I think I may wait for the results of the suspect test to build it, as if Rain does go (which I hope it doesn't) then at least I have the small consolation of being able to build it easier lol.

Gah, oh yes I remember the lack of coverage options. HP Grass or Rock is a huge dilemna. BalloonTran ftw though :D
Aha, fair enough, I've not started back yet, and have finally been able to do the analysis I promised I'd write... I still want to RMT my Sun team at some point, but basically I want to utterly perfect it before doing so as it's my most successful team to date, so I understand the sentiment.

Haha, yeah it is, but Fires have been my favourite type since the dawn of pokemon, so I'd feel bad if I didn't begin with them. Do you play in the PO Monotype tier or in OU with your Poison team, btw? I had a pretty successful balanced offensive one for Gen 4 UU (Flareon is a beastly Special Wall), which did hilariously well in some tournaments lol. Anyway, I think a HO team is the way to go, what with the awful SR weakness and no way to rid myself of it but Torkoal... as are balloons, and lots of them. I'm debating whether to have Tales or if she'd be more hinderance than help, but cancelling Rain seems pretty essential (unless it's banned, ofc..). A challenge, anyway lol.
Hey, saw your sig and wondered if you were planning to RMT your monopoison team at all? Just cos it'd be easier to advise you on it if it were :P as well as encouraging more people to try monotype. Speaking of which, I really need to get onto a monofire team...
Yeah. Maybe a Thunderbolt / Shadow Ball / HP Ice / Volt Change. (Too bad that only Rash ones can have Aura Sphere. And there won't be any Raikou shiny in Brazil :( )
    Only could post today.

Scarf is somewhat better because of revenge killing. And I don't know who else can hold it and be a faster threat.
Yeah. I don't know why Jolteon doesn't learn Spikes, since he's ... spiked.

And speaking of Jolteon, I'd like to use him, but I think that Raikou is outclassing him in terms of power.
Electivire is pretty much the only "pure" physical Electric-type in my team. Both Borutorosu and Shibirudon are mixed (Voltlos has Hammer Arm and Shibirudon has Dragon Claw). I think that another kind of Rotom can help my team, but as far Rotom-W proved very useful.
I think that I will use Borutorosu, Electivire, Rotom-W, Shibirudon, Raukou and Magnezone. Too bad that no Electric pokémon can use any entry hazard or Rapid Spin :(
Yeah, but Dasutodasu's competitive movepool is resumed to Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Gunk Shot, Payback, Rock Blast and Explosion.

And a sad info: The only Poison pokémon able to learn Stealth Rock are Nidoqueen and Nidoking, and is unfortunately illegal with Encourage. Better to use Spikes. Pendoraa, Roserade and Dasutodasu can learn it.
I've tried a Sub Pain Split in that team, but you often realize that most Poison pokémon (aside Crobat) are simply too slow to use, even with Toxicroak's Sucker Punch. And with a slow you actually gain a severe Honchkrow weakness (got swept by that crappy crow many times). But it may be useful for stalling purposes.

And if you're using a Poison stall team, why not Morobareru? That thing forces a lot of switches, ideal for spikes and T-spikes. Even Dasutodasu (the garbage bag).
I see. Anyway, I find Scarf Gengar better than LO gengar because you may want a revenge killer in your team, and ScarfGar works wonders in the last and in this new gen.
Your signature says you are running a mono Poison team. I hope you have thought of Balloons, as 3 of your Pokemon are weak to ground. Of course, that would offer bait the opponent so you can switch in any of your other 3 without a problem.
Thanks very much. It's literally the first time I've tried to search for something and its thread hasn't come up, however. Just unfortunate I had to go and create a thread this time...

Guess I'll bump the old thread once mine dies, to avoid confusion.
Okay forget that, looks like I made a duplicate thread thanks to the searchbar not pulling up the Tangrwoth thread.
Indeed, though of course ours are the invalid ones XD.

Incidentally, whulst looking up Tangrowth in the searchbar I realised noone had made a thread for him, so I did. If you have any experience with the guy could you check it out? I've put myself down for his analysis and hopefully I should get some reasonable testing data to use from the thread with any luck.
I'm not sure whether people are just "Oh thank God it isn't another awful one", like you said in awe of the popular users, drawn in by the dual commentary, or simply don't actually mind if a warstory is badly presented and often the bare minimum of explanation.

Either way, it really seems like double standards, or perhaps we just judge a warstory differently - on aesthetics somewhat as well as depth and clarity. In any case there's little point arguing now that so many users have ignored our responses and assumed we're haters lol.
Cannot believe the double standards in judging warstories haha. Good to see there's at least one sane person out there...
