I am not too sure if I am interested. The other teams already took high ladder players in the first couple hours of sign-up, and I can't guarantee the positive outcome from the overall tour even we end up making a team. Just sayin, but I am still interested in making one.

No offense to anyone, I am not sure if he is the most optimal choice for our team. I am planning to choose a teammate based on their overall metagame knowledge, predictions, experience, and ladder performance. If you would give me a time to think, I will appreciate it.

There is another person who would be cool with teaming with us, elmustasho or however you spell his name, but I think he'd be a good fit as well. If it's okay with you, I'm cool with teaming with him too, so I'll submit our team if you're cool with it. If you want someone else, just let me know.

Btw Entrainment does not necessarily state what Ability is being supressed , so unless PH it can be still relatively hard to tell at times. Would not mention it.

    Overview

    * Mega Gyarados, thanks to the virtue of its typing and good stats, are able to accomplish variety of roles in many archetypes of teams in Balanced Hackmons metagame.
    * Offensively, STAB combination of Water and Dark paired with 155 Attack stat limits switch-in's against Mega Gyarados, and those who are able to take damage from it will lose their item from STAB Knock Off if they do not possess Z-Crystal. Setup sweeper sets involving moves such as Shell Smash or Shift Gear is hard to stop thanks to Dark typing that leaves Mega Gyarados immune to Prankster moves.
    * Defensively, the typing leaves Mega Gyarados immune to Stored Power, and resistant to Power Trip, Sunsteel Strike, and Moongeist Beam all of which are very dangerous moves with boosts. This lets Mega Gyarados function efficiently as a defensive setup check in forms of RegenVest pivot or Unaware.
    * Mediocre Defense stat leaves Mega Gyarados vulnerable against powerful physical attackers such as Mega Mewtwo X, Primal Groudon, and Regigigas all which immensely threatens Mega Gyarados and often forces a switch.
    * Relatively low Speed tier, while it is beneficial as a pivot that is slower than Giratina and Zygarde-C, also forces Mega Gyarados to be reliant on boosts to ouspeed important threats such as Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Rayquaza if it decides to run offensive sets.
    * Weakness to Pixilate and Galvanize, while being neutral to Aerilate often forces Mega Gyarados' team to have a switch-in for foes with aforementioned abilities to produce the best synergy in terms of making defensive core or protect Mega Gyarados until it can sweep once its checks have been eliminated.

    [Unaware Setup Check]
    Gyarados-Mega @ Safety Goggles / Darkinium Z
    Ability: Unaware
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
    Relaxed / Sassy Nature
    IVs: 0 Spe
    - Knock Off
    - Spectral Thief / Pursuit
    - U-turn / Parting Shot
    - Shore Up / Strength Sap

    Set Comments

    Moves

    * Knock Off is the primary STAB move that hits majority of the targets neutrally while being able to remove items such as Safety Goggles from walls, choice items from wallbreakers, and Eviolite from Imposter Chansey.
    * Spectral Thief shuts down most setup sweepers with boost by stealing them, and it immediately turns Mega Gyarados into a dangerous threat after stealing Attack boosts from foes that gathered boosts from moves such as Shell Smash or Shift Gear.
    * Pursuit can be used against weak foes such as Mega Mewtwo Y or Mega Gengar after they notice they have been walled or is threatened by Unaware Mega Gyarados and attempt to switch out.
    * U-turn is reliable pivoting move that lets Mega Gyarados pivot against foes, lettings its teammates switch in safely.
    * Parting Shot is another pivoting move that does not inflict damage but weaken opponent, and this helps next ally to deal with foes easier. With Darkinium Z, it gives Mega Gyarados a single chance to heal injured ally which would otherwise have no method to heal.
    * Shore Up, or any other recovery move is mandatory for Mega Gyarados to stay healthy over the match, checking setup sweepers continuously.
    * Strength Sap grants greater amount of recovery, but the damage Mega Gyarados takes from physical attackers does not increase due to Unaware neglecting Attack drops from the move.

    Set Details

    * Relaxed nature is generally preferred to allow Mega Gyarados to take Power Trip better from the likes of Yveltal or other Mega Gyarados, while improving the overall Defense stats, which is a little lower than Special Defense.
    * Sassy nature is also a viable option if one's team needs a better check against dangerous special attackers such as Mega Mewtwo Y or Primal Kyogre.
    * Speed was minimized with 0 EV, 0 IV, and Speed-reducing nature in order to make Mega Gyarados move as slow as possible in order to pivot efficiently or maximize the chance to successfully stealing boosts using Spectral Thief.
    * 31 Speed IV and 188 Speed EV can be added for Mega Gyarados to outspeed Deoxys-A after stealing +2 Speed after Shell Smash, but this often lets opposing Zygarde-C to pivot against Mega Gyarados which will go slower with minimized Speed.

    [RegenVest Pivot]
    Gyarados-Mega @ Assault Vest
    Ability: Regenerator
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
    Sassy Nature
    IVs: 0 Spe
    - Knock Off
    - Spectral Thief
    - Rapid Spin / Sucker Punch / Beak Blast
    - U-turn

    Set Comments

    Moves

    * Knock Off is the best move Mega Gyarados can equip, since it is a strong STAB move that does good damage with its high Attack stat and can remove items.
    * Spectral Thief keeps Mega Gyarados from becoming a setup fodder against many dangerous foes like Mega Mewtwo Y, Deoxys-A, or others. It also can be used to shut down boosted sweeper.
    * Rapid Spin is a good utility move that Mega Gyarados can use to remove hazards on its team's side, and it can be used while forcing out Ghost-types that commonly fear STAB Knock Off.
    * Sucker Punch is a useful move that is used to pick off on weakened foes when they assume they can outspeed Mega Gyarados and at least inflict a damage to it.
    * Beak Blast, while seemingly an odd option, lets Mega Gyarados punish foes such as RegenVest Solgaleo or Giratina that try to hit Mega Gyarados with U-turn and switch out by burning them and leaving them unable to inflict much damage to Mega Gyarados for the rest of the battle.
    * U-turn is the move that is used to pivot out, and helps Mega Gyarados let its ally switch in unharmed.

    Set Details

    * Sassy nature has been chosen to maximize the efficiency of Assault Vest's Special Defense boost. Relaxed nature is viable but the difference of special bulk becomes quite apparent.
    * Assault Vest significantly increases Mega Gyarados' bulk, letting it check threats such as Mega Mewtwo Y and Primal Kyogre much easier.
    * Regenerator is the only way for Mega Gyarados to recover its health with Assault Vest, and it has good synergy with U-turn.
    * This set can also have aforementioned specific spread to outspeed Deoxys-A after stealing +2 Speed from Shell Smash while having the same drawback of not being able to underspeeding walls such as Giratina and Zygarde-C.

    Usage Tips

    [Poison Heal]
    Gyarados-Mega @ Toxic Orb
    Ability: Poison Heal
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Knock Off
    - Crabhammer / Sunsteel Strike
    - Shift Gear
    - Will-O-Wisp / Spore

    Set Comments

    Moves

    * Knock Off is still useful in offensive set, since it is the strongest STAB Dark-type move that Mega Gyarados can equip and can still lets Mega Gyarados do something worthwhile when it is unable to accumulate boosts.
    * Crabhammer is secondary STAB that has higher base power and is therefore chosen over Liquidation despite of the imperfect accuracy. Relatively high chance of critical hits also lets it muscle through Unaware or bulky walls such as Mega Audino or Registeel.
    * Sunsteel Strike can also be chosen for Mega Gyarados to defeat Unaware Audino which would otherwise easily wall this set, and it also hits opposing Fairy-types hard after couple boosts. It also lets Mega Gyarados reliably eliminate Sturdy Shedinja without relying on Will-O-Wisp and waiting for burn damage while taking Endeavor.
    * Shift Gear is the primary setup move that boosts Mega Gyarados' Attack and Speed, letting it overcome its underwhelming Speed tier and immediately become a threat to foe's team.
    * Will-O-Wisp is a move that can be used freely without fearing Magic Bounce, and cripples Imposter, letting Mega Gyarados win against it by itself assuming it is healthy enough.
    * Spore, with the combination with Knock Off, can get rid of Safety Goggles and put any non-Grass-type foes without Magic Bounce asleep. This helps Mega Gyarados deal with aforementioned passive foes much better.

    Set Details

    * Adamant nature was chosen to allow Mega Gyarados to hit as hard as possible and to maximize the efficiency of boosts from Shift Gear.
    * Toxic Orb is needed to activate the Poison status on Mega Gyarados to utilize Poison Heal while keeping itself safe from other status that will end up crippling it.
    * Poison Heal lets Mega Gyarados set up often thanks to the passive recovery and the virtue of its bulk, and allows it to defeat its own Imposter, which cannot copy Poison status, with Will-O-Wisp or Spore.

    Usage Tips

Describe how to use the Pokemon in question.

    Team Options

Describe some teammates that would be a good idea to pair with this Pokemon.

    [Unburden Sweeper]
    Gyarados-Mega @ White Herb / Sitrus Berry
    Ability: Unburden
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Power Trip
    - Sunsteel Strike
    - Imprison / Close Combat / Bolt Strike
    - Shell Smash / Belly Drum

    Set Comments

    Moves

    * Power Trip is a STAB move that gains frightening base power with boosts, and most neutral targets are severely dented or KO'ed after the boost.
    * Sunsteel Strike is used to bypass foes with Unaware or Sturdy Shedinja, which will otherwise wall this set even after boosts. It also helps Mega Gyarados deal with Fairy-types in general that are resistant to Power Trip.
    * Imprison is used to keep Imposter from attacking Mega Gyarados, and this is possible since the consumption of an item after the boost doubles Mega Gyarados' Speed thanks to Unaware, while Imposter cannot have this boost.
    * Close Combat lets Mega Gyarados OHKO its own Imposter after Belly Drum boost. The move also punishes Registeel which often switches into Mega Gyarados anticipating the boost and would attempt to remove boosts using Haze with Prankster.
    * Bolt Strike also is capable of featuring OHKO on Mega Gyarados' own Imposter at +6. It also lets it OHKO Yveltal, opposing Mega Gyarados, and Fur Coat Kyogre all of which would otherwise survive a hit and proceed to retaliate or steal boosts.
    * Shell Smash, paired with Unburden, lets Mega Gyarados outspeed the entire metagame with Choice Scarf after the boost, as well as doubling Mega Gyarados' attack.
    * Belly Drum instantly maximizes Mega Gyarados' attack, turning it into a fearsome threat to the foe's team. The lack of boost in Speed is mediated by Unburden which lets Mega Gyarados outspeed all relevant foes in the metagame.

    Set Details

    * Thanks to the Unburden's mechanics of doubling Speed after the usage of an item, Mega Gyarados can outspeed the entire metagame after Shell Smash or Belly Drum.
    * Adamant nature is chosen in order to to maximize the raw power.
    * White Herb lets Mega Gyarados utilize Shell Smash by removing defense drops from and outspeeding entire metagame with Choice Scarf with +2 boost from Shell Smash and Unburden.
    * Sitrus Berry is immediately consumed upon the usage of Belly Drum, still letting Mega Gyarados outspeed the entire unboosted metagame while gaining significantly greater power.
    * 152 Defense EV allows Mega Gyarados to OHKO its own Imposter after Belly Drum using Close Combat or Bolt Strike. If the Shell Smash set is used, it is strongly recommended to have 252 Defense EV instead.

List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to either being not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.

    Checks and Counters

[Fairy-types]: Mega Diancie immensely threatens Mega Gyarados with Pixilate sets, which is able to revenge kill boosted Mega Gyarados or to KO or dangerously weaken defensive variants. Xerneas can force switch and proceed to set up or pivot against Mega Gyarados' team.
