Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I'm bringing my laptop to LA.
After what Kevin said, I'm kinda worried. I had to borrow my friend's cartridge because I don't even have one, but he might have pokesaved pokemon...
I wanted to have a trick room team, with an imprison dusknoir and then have a super slow sweeping typhlosion. I think this is way to risky. I originally had typhlosion paired with weavile, but everyone good is using tr, so i thought maybe a slow typhlosion would be good. Does anyone have any...
What set would be usable for a dusknoir anyways?
I was making one for a smeargle/dusknoir combo, but I was stuck with a few moves:
Imprison
TR
Protect
Icebeam
This is what I have currently, but I feel like it is taunt weak. That is why smeargle would have follow me. But then dusknoir attacking...
I got in as well, and so did two of my friends, we all live in the northern california area. I forget if they asked for our address, if so, it seems as if people who live within a close proximity were more likely to get chosen for the tournament.
If I wanted to have a smeargle counter, would you propose i do something like the following: Have defensive pokes leading, wait for smeargle to come try and set up, and then bring in abomasnow and mamoswine or something like that?
Hippowdon
I've been thinking about Hippowdon in response to all the Obi's smeargles running around. Hippowdon can take an explosion, or we can switch him in. I know that he might not be all that powerful, but he sets up stream nicely.
What do people think about this?
thank you for the input, all this really helps me.
would gengar take care of my weavile and heracross weakness?
The following is what I am considering for a leading gengar.
Gengar @ Leftovers
Timid
6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball
Explosion
I really don't know...
You have no solid counter for swampert. He can take out your gliscor and electivire. Any with Avalanche can take out your Mence. Someone on your team needs grass knot.
I think the reason behind the fact that there are so few fire types is that natural forms of fire are rare in nature. I think GameFreak said something like that. I know you already said this, but Gyarados can really kill this team. Fire teams just feel too frail. I think that Infernape sums...
I've been experimenting with a few different setups of the following team, but this is the one that has been working the best. I usually do pretty good, but usually i get out-smarted by something I didn't expect. Anyways, here is my team.
Azelf @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
Naive
36 Atk / 252...
